How are youth summit bids determined? ›

AT-LARGE bids will go to the highest-scoring bid eligible teams across different levels. PAID bids are awarded first, AT-LARGE bids will then go to the highest-scorinag bid eligible teams across the different remaining levels. The levels will be divided as follows: L1, L2, L3, L4. PAID bids are always awarded first.

Teams that place 1st, 2nd or 3rd in their respective division, will also receive a team banner and each participant from those teams will receive individual mini banners recognizing their accomplishment. All divisional champions will receive exclusive Summit Champion Rings!

Wild Card Round: Teams who receive a Wild Card bid will compete in the Wild Card round. The number of teams advancing to Finals from the Wild Card round will be based on 50% of the division competing on the day of competition but will be no fewer than 5 teams and no more than 10 teams.

The Youth Summit Championship is Varsity's end-of-season event specifically for youth teams. Like The Summit and The D2 Summit, teams must win a bid at one of many bid events during the regular season.

If the deductions for Performance 2 are equal or zero, the team with the least amount of deductions for Performance 1 will be awarded the bid. If the deductions for Performance 1 are equal or zero, the bid will be awarded to the team with the highest Performance 2 score in the Overall Impression category.

Paid vs. At Large Bids – Paid bids are given to teams that score exceptionally well. Paid bids are (at the time of this writing) worth $675 per athlete and 2 coaches if you stay on Disney property, and the value of a commuter package if you do not stay on property.

12 PAID BIDS: Two PAID Bids per level will be awarded to the highest-scoring bid eligible National Champions in each level. The levels will be divided as follows: L1, L2, L3,L4, L4. 2, L5/L6. AT-LARGE BIDS: Every bid eligible National Champion will be guaranteed at least an AT-LARGE bid.

Approximately 12,000 teams competed for 1,241 bids at Varsity competitions throughout the 2017-2018 cheer season. Therefore, only 10.3% of teams were talented enough to earn a bid to the D2 Summit!

The Summit Competitions

For The Summit and D2 Summit, levels 1-6 are invited to compete at the ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Florida. Typically the Summit and D2 Summit are the two weekends following The Cheerleading Worlds.

Hit Zero. Hitting Zero means that all stunts, tumbling, jumps, dance in the performance of a routine have been executed without any deductions from the judging panel. In other words “HIT ZERO” means ZERO deductions in a routine.

What is a full paid bid in cheer? ›

For cheerleading teams, a paid bid is designed to cover all competition expenses, including lodging, transportation and registration fees to compete, up to a maximum of $650 per athlete, and for up to two coaches.

National Cheerleaders Association

Founded in 1948 by Lawrence “Herkie” Herkimer, NCA was the first organization to host a competition for All-Star teams in 1987. Today, the NCA All-Star National Championship is the largest and most prestigious of its kind with more than 36,000 participants vying for a title.

With the aim of empowering youth to harness the potential of technology, the summit will bring together young minds, experts, and stakeholders to shape the digital future and drive progress towards a more inclusive and sustainable world.

Rounds at The Summit

The top 5 scoring teams in each division will automatically advance to the Final Round. There will not be any teams advancing from the Wild Card Round to the Semi-Final Round.

If your gym is not planning on attending Worlds or Summit, there might be a good solution for your team. Anyone can attend US Finals, but you can earn a golden ticket that will cover the athlete fees. If you win a golden ticket, your team will receive banner and all athletes on the team will receive golden shoelaces.

Cheerleading Bids will be awarded to the TOP SCORES overall.

The Full Paid Bids will be awarded to the Highest Scores in the Worlds Qualifying Divisions per the CCC World Bid Declaration. The At-Large Bids will be awarded to the next highest scores.

What are Summit Bids. Summit bids are awarded with specific criteria set by Varsity, the company that hosts the summit. Only Varsity Brand events award summit bids. Summit bids are awarded as follows. Only Junior and Senior teams are eligible for the summit/D2 summit.
