Comenity Mastercard Preapproval (2024)

It's a hard pull (most likely EX) and you will learn your SL if/when you are approved. FYI they typically are not overly generous with starting limits.

I can't comment on whether or not having a 2.5 year old BK7 reporting was one of the criteria factored in evaluating for a preapproval.

Hopefully someone with BK knowledge can chime in on this

I have a preapproval email for Comenity's Caesar's Total Rewards Visa card but I'm afraid to try it too.

I originally got the IKEA card and it promised $5k but gave me only $550. I had to do IKEA because I got turned down from almost every rebuild lender that wasn't secured and I got turned down for many secured ones too. I pressed the CLI button a few times over the next year and it finally gave me $3.5k. I just went to the IKEA store today (a huge madhouse - guess everyone is a stimulus baller now) to generate activity for 2021 but I don't think I will do it anymore unless it upgrades to a Visa. I don't want to waste a hard pull for a toy limit Visa to casinos I don't go to anymore.

I was pre-approved for 5.5k and received it. Luckily as I have run up my limit and paid it off twice now. IKEA is a madhouse ALL the time. Nothing to do with stimulus. There are only a few dozen stores compared to most chains and people drive pretty far (hours) to get to their nearest IKEA. You may have used it for just a rebuild. But us real IKEA shoppers will take what we can for the store specifically - so I could care less about it becoming a visa.

Comenity's Caesar's Total Rewards Visa; I thought for some reason that this was a good card some years back. I have not heard about that card in years. When I last heard someone have that card that had a CL over 10k so not that bad. Might be something to consider in the future if they have perks.

@jmw1- just 2 points of clarification regarding the IKEA card and the Comenity pre-qualification process. The pre-qualification website never promises anything. The website disclaimer clearly outlines one can be approved "up to" the shown amount. Once they application is fully submitted, that will determine your actual limit -- which could be the stated amount, lower or declined. Unfortunately, the IKEA Projekt card does not conver to the IKEA Visa card -- two different products.
