So glad we stopped at Boundary Oak Distillery— we wanted a Bourbon adventure and we got one!Cody was a very personable guide as he reviewed the history of the distillery and facilitated our tasting. His sense of humor and obvious interest in the topic made for great laughs and conversation. We enjoyed all of the tastings but particularly enjoyed the St. Luke lavender whiskey, My Old Kentucky Home, and Cinnful69. The Fall and Halloween decor was a true bonus! Well done! Definitely worth a stop 🍁🧡🥃

My wife and I loved the tour and tasting. We sampled a few bourbons and liked some. Their gift shop has a nice selection. We spent 1 hour there.

Andy Novikov — Google review

Ms. Lisa took really good care of me. I ordered my collection a couple years ago and wasn't able to come up from Atlanta Georgia to pick up. I was thoroughly satisfied with my customer service and the tasting.

Ira Baldwin — Google review

Distillery is a nice, clean and small business that has some great history within it. Worth the trip and a great way to spend a few hours. The tasting is great and very affordable ($10 and $9 for military). They do need to improve their theater. The sound isn't very good and the audio is hard to here. It also can get pretty warm in the building so be prepared for that. None the less, staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about their products and history. Great experience.👍👍👍👍

The Nerd Assassin — Google review

Excellent place to experience the making of bourbon distillery. Very knowledgeable staff. Pleasant and friendly . The tour is aGreat resource to understanding the process, and the tasting area is wonderful. I chose the Moonshine. 11 proof . It burns a little going down but is a fast burn to exhilaration. I recommend the entire tour of the facility and distilling process. Then it's off to the tasting bar. Highly recommend.

We had a tour by Linda this morning. SO very knowledgeable, amazing tour. I had to leave with three bottles to bring home. This is a must-stop on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. Thank you!

Melissa Olvera — Google review

Once again another amazing distillery in Kentucky. There is a tasting and history of Boubon experience that you can enjoy but it is a much smaller operation than other. They have some of the best tasting Bourbon that I have tried as of yet. Staff is friendly and fun to conversate with.

P J — Google review

This is by far my favorite distillery I have been to in a very long time. Cody was a great surprise with helping me out to just talking about the bourbon and the distillery. All I can say is 10 out of 10 from the great staff great bourbon and history y’all are doing an amazing job and I can’t wait to come back in and see what new bourbon y’all have made!!!!

Michael Buck — Google review

Dustin greeted us with a very friendly welcome!!Did a a very nice diverse tasting. Dustin took the time to explain each one of their bottles. Was an awesome start of our adventure.(We were there on Sept.13th)

Randy-MaryJo Corson — Google review

Small distillery. Didn’t seem like they had much of a tour so we did a tasting for $10 but nothing was to our liking. Lavender drink was okay but when I’m doing the bourbon trail I don’t want the best drink to be a flavored whiskey. Got our stamp and headed out, this one won’t be on the list to return.

Anissa M — Google review

Quick detour on our way to Arkansas. So glad we stopped. Friendly and relaxing atmosphere. They have quite a variety and there is something for everyone. We did a tasting and really enjoyed our time there. Our favorites were the General Patton Diesel, St. Luke Lavender Whiskey, and Cinnful 69 Moonshine.

V&T Eiler — Google review

Had a lot funk here. It’s small but they got some neat historical items. We did the tasting and I like what I had especially the my Kentucky home bourbon. We bought a couple bottles and everyone was friendly and the vibe was chill.

First off, Gary is an absolute hoot . Such a wonderful gentleman. An absolute gem !! He made our experience fantastic. .... As for the bourbon , a wonderful selection and variety. The St. Helen's was my favorite . I love unique spirits and that is incredibly unique !! You absolutely have to come here .

Brandon Knapp — Google review

Top notch. We actually stayed here as part of the Harvest Host Membership. We knew we'd be arriving late so we called ahead and they worked with us to purchase a bottle of their lavender whiskey over the phone and pick it up after hours. They were very accommodating. My wife does not like whiskey but she actually loved the lavender bottle we picked up. So unique!

Jamie Stahler — Google review

So it was me and my fiancé‘s first time being in a distillery for whiskey. Boundary Oak was awesomely fantastic, and Gary our host did an amazing job making us laugh and going through our tour. The Bourbons was outstanding honestly the best I have ever tasted! The Cabernet wine was incredible. Me and my fiancé enjoyed ourselves. Gary was very fun, made things exciting and laughed along with us during the tastings. We will definitely be back for more fun thank you to you allfive stars across-the-board 👍

Raymond vaughn — Google review

Wow! Never thought I'd like so many different bourbons in 1 place, but Boundary Oak showed me such a tasty variety! From the tasting to Gary, our bourbon tasting guide, it was fantastic! Came to get our KY Passport stamped, and wound up spending having anincredible tasting experience!! Can't wait to go back!😀

Sights & Landmarks

Churchill Downs is a horse racing track located in Louisville, Kentucky. It has hosted the Kentucky Derby since 1875 and is also a National Historic Landmark. The track usually seats up to 50,000 people, but on Derby Day it can hold up to 150,000 spectators.

We paid $17 each for a 30 minute tour of the grounds as well as entrance to the museum. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and encouraged us often to ask questions. As a childhood fan with very little knowledge of the history race, I was amazed with the history our tour guide was able to share in just the 30 minutes we were there. If you know more than me, you might ask questions and be pleasantly surprised to hear her explain Churchill Downs trivia. Since it was only a 30 minute tour, we didn't go far from the museum, but we did get to see the track and the winners circle under the twin towers! The museum is quite large and holds of a lot of interesting facts as well as interactive and informative games for some of the younger (or young at heart) crowd. 10/10, must visit!

Anna H. H. — Google review

This is where it goes down. The place to be. It’s remarkable how beautiful this place is. We took a short shelf guided tour. It was a lot of information. I believe the longer tour would offer behind the scene type thing. Nevertheless we enjoyed the history of the iconic place. The gift shop is nice. Parking is plentiful and the staff is friendly and energetic.

Wind Napol — Google review

SO impressed ! Amazing facility. Must see the museum & movie. Incredibly well done. Go for one of the tours, very informative. I don't do things twice, but I would just to see the 360° movie again. Beautiful

Jeannine Uehling — Google review

This where all the action happens for The Kentucky Derby. Lots of interesting historical trivia about the horses that ran in past races. Beautifully kept grounds and stalls..a great tour and we stopped for a Mint Julep at the end our tour (this was on our own). Off Season they are reasonably priced at their bar/cafe. It was a very tasty co*cktail. They have a gift shop on site next to the cafe with all types of Churchill Downs Memorabilia.

Luann LaPointe — Google review

One of the coolest things I've ever done! If you have the chance, visit Churchill Downs. It's an experience you'll never forget! When we visited, they had a bunch of food trucks in the vicinity. It was neat because you could walk around to a couple of food trucks, purchase some drinks, dance to the live music, and then go watch the horse races. We just sat in a general admission area which worked out perfect because we were there during the week when it wasn't crazy busy. Overall, we had an absolute blast!

Mackenzie Feeley — Google review

This place was so Beautiful!Just traveling thur, knee problem. Enjoyed taking pics of statue of Secretaries!I seen the movie a long time ago. The place was so awesome to see! I know the museum was open. But I remember hearing on news horses were moved because a horse died. It was under evistgation. What I seen was still a very beautiful place! Enjoy it!

First time visitor. Took the DOWNS/HERMITAGE FARMS tour which is a full day tour. Highly recommend! At Hermitage Farms our guide was a very knowledgeable young man Jacob who was filled with all the details of the operations of the Farm, including the horse stables, barn turned kitchen and event venue and the different gardens of mostly edibles that sustain their kitchen and uoscale restaurant on site.

Karen Coglianese — Google review

Great way to spend the afternoon while in Louisville. Bring cash to bet . The food is just okay. Eat elsewhere if possible before or after. The drinks are actually pretty good. They make a pretty decent old-fashioned.

William Berdine — Google review

Never been to a race before, was a great thrill. Everyone had. Fun watching and cheering for the Horses. Love the history and the stadium food. Good day with friends, will definitely do this again.

Alan Flanagan — Google review

Very interesting museum visit and short tour. The entry fee includes an immersive 18-minute video on a 360-degree screen with surround sound, all museum exhibits, and a 30-minute tour. There are rotating stools for viewing the video so you can easily spin and see everything. Our tour guide, Steve, was very knowledgeable and entertaining. Videos are shown at ten minutes past every hour with a ten minute intro on the hour. Tours begin on the half hour, and the guide picks you up in the theater, which is called The Great Hall. There is a nice gift shop with loads of merchandise and a cafe that can both be visited for free. The only issue we observed is that the parking lot is quite small, so leave extra time for arrival, as your reserved video and tour times are set.

Alan Lewis — Google review

Went to see horse races. Was a phenomenal experience. We got our tickets when we arrived which ended up costing us a third of the price. Has a parking lot concession stand for food drinks and a gift shop. You can smoke inside while watching the horse races. Once you enter you can't return. Races take place all day. Minimum bet for a horse race when we went was $50.

kali — Google review

Great experience! This was my first visit. We took a tour of the city and this was one of our stops. Enjoyed seeing the horses race and exploring the grounds, which are very beautiful. The gift shop has a good variety of items, such as derby hats, shirts, magnets, and derby collector items.

Kristi U — Google review

If you get the chance take the Superstars and Spires tour. At ninety minutes it covers a lot. Our guide, Bob, was really good about sharing stories and historical insights about this great track. The tour takes you through all the grandstands and high end seating where the stars and celebrities enjoy the Derby. There is a museum to visit as well as a theatre to watch a movie about The Race, which is a must see. Visit the store for some swag and the cafe for a mint julip.

johnsko Johns — Google review

We went to the November live races and I would rate that a 5. We bought tickets to the millionaire’s row section which was great and included a buffet and all you can drink soda. The buffet was very disappointing. It went from 1 P.M. to 3:30 P.M. We got our food at 1:15 P.M. after the first race was done. The pasta was warm to cool in temperature, the chicken was dry. The dessert selection was very messy in presentation. That lowered our rating. Is that really how it is for the Kentucky Derby when people are paying $10,000 or more for tickets? Thank goodness ours were $61 each (includes entry to Churchill Downs).

Brian Bezanson — Google review

I had such a wonderful, enjoyable day/experience here yesterday(Sunday, November 5th, 2023).I came with dear friends who are parents of a deceased army son.We attended the Military remembrance day for surviving families.11 stares were represented.Such good food, a band, face painting, activities fir the children and so much more was provided at No cost to the families and their guests. The staff I talked to and got to know we're absolutely so friendly, caring and a joy to meetWe had such a wonderful time.Thank you to your staff throughout the building and grounds.I will definitely come back!

Sharon Howard — Google review

Definitely recommend purchasing tickets for tour ahead of time and including the video and track tour. We had our tour at the end of the day so we didn’t get to enjoy the museum before the tour. Plan for more time on the front or backend to be able to wander through the museum.

Kate Carlson — Google review

We went to Opening Night 2024 at Churchill Downs. It was a great night. I enjoyed the night racing. However, they need to improve on their food concessions. We spent $65 for 2 burgers, bratwurst, and sprite. There was no lettuce, tomatoes on burgers. We couldn't get mustard or ketchup either, and fries were cold. For the price you pay, they should have a condiment station at least.

Milling Chablal — Google review

There are few greater places in the entire world than the Legendary Churchill Downs.Fortunes have been won, and fortunes have been lost.At times, the rush of nostalgia will rush over you, coupled with the roar of the crowd, and the thunderous stampede of the thoroughbreds down the back stretch.Memories are made here that last a lifetime. The sun always shines bright at this Ole Kentucky home. And you ain't never been anywhere, or seen anything, until you've witnessed a Kentucky Derby in person.

Tyler Wilson — Google review

My wife and I toured this well-known site in late February and unfortunately, it was cold and windy. But we were still able to walk through the stands to the finish line and the guide braved the nasty weather to give us some interesting tidbits and insider info. The museum is also a must-see, especially if you are a horse racing enthusiast. The museum offers a well-rounded history of Churchill Downs, the horses that have run there as well as the jockeys, trainers, and other workers who made the Kentucky Derby world famous. I’d love to see a race here!

David Pelowski — Google review

The museum was actually much bigger than I thought it would be and much more interesting that I thought it would be so I ended up thinking it was worth the money to get in. It also included a tour down to the stands which was pretty cool to see and able to see the track up close as just part of the basic tour is a very cool place to go with a lot of history.

Audrey Hart — Google review

Very beautiful historical racetrack to visit. It was great taking the tour that is offered at the museum.I would love to experience a race event in person some day.

Jamie Steeno — Google review

Home of the most famous race in the world the Kentucky Derby. I would have loved to go to one of the races but I came here in the off season when there were no races running at all. There are a lot of different tours to go on: Backstretch Workout Tour, Barn and Backside Tour, Black Heritage in Racing Tour, Bourbon and Bridles Experience, Race Day Experience, Hermitage Farm and Derby Museum Tour, Ultimate Churchill Downs Tour, Throughbred Workout Tour, Superstars and Spires tour (I really wanted to go to this one but it was sold out), Guided Track Visit. I went to this last one, you got to see the track as well as the grandstand. Nice quick tour if you aren't a big fan or in a pinch for time but I definitely recommend the other tours if you are a big fan.

Josh Baltazar — Google review

An amazing experience to watch a live Horse race. You can't imagine how good a vibe is created during the horse race. We bought tickets in advance. We watched almost all the races that day. Very good experience. There were plenty of food courts inside. Next year, we are planning to go there to experience the Kentucky Derby that has almost 170,000 viewers. In Louisville, this place is a must visit.

Md Muntasir Alam — Google review

Went here for Kentucky derby 2023 and it was a great time! Highly recommend a box seat and near the finish line. Drinks and food were basic but all inclusive. Cigars cost extra. Definitely a great once in a lifetime experience.

Jim Alford — Google review

Excellent tour and was amazing to see this historic place in person. A shame I wasn't born when Secretariat run the Derby in 1973. His record still stands. There is a beautiful display about him on the second floor of the museum adjacent to Churchill Downs.

2024 opening day at Churchill downs. Very organized this year. Signs on Taylor boulevard navigated me to the Blue parking pot were my ticket was valid to park. There was plenty of parking still available as well as handicap. I was close to the entrance but still had a goal cart rode for free to the door. I went to a gala in the Trophy room on the 6th floor. The attendants are not very knowledgeable about navigating to the right places. But overall I jad a blast and Churchill downs gets better and better every year.

Museums

The Kentucky Derby Museum is a heritage museum located in Louisville, Kentucky that preserves the history of the famed horse race. The museum features exhibits on the race and its participants, as well as an event space that can be rented out for weddings or other private parties.

I haven’t bet or even watched any Derby before, but after my visit, I am definitely trapped by its charisma. The introductory movie is nice. It gives you all the details about the game. But what’s really amazing about this visit, is the tour after the movie. We went to the field where Kentucky Derby has taken place for more than 140 years. I learned a lot about the horse, the Jockey, the game, the price of seats and how the field is maintained. The visit really opens my eyes to a whole new world that I have not touched before. It’s a wonderful visit!!!Even you are not a Derby fan, you should check this museum out. It’s worthy!!!

Gu Lin — Google review

We showed up and did the Barns and Backside tour, which is an hour, then did the walking tour an hour after that concluded. Really great tours. We went to the museum in between the tours and saw the greatest race movie. Currently a lot of construction but it'll be great once it's done. Highly recommend the tours. The barns and backside gets you to the other side of the track, which is nice, but I wish we could have walked into the barn area, although I understand why we couldn't. Great experience.

Brandon Eddy — Google review

A very affordable and informative tour. I was able to ask questions of the guide both during and after the tour. The amount of knowledge he had was incredible. We got to walk out to the track and see where it is that the horses run. Hard to believe more than 150k people can fit!Outside of the tour, the museum has so much available information for you to read and go through. There are incredible artifacts and interactive features to engage with. We really enjoyed the 360° video experience as well.

John Arnold — Google review

Lots of history and a great location to visit even if you are not totally an avid fan and follower of horse racing. The tour and museum will give you a solid understanding of the sport, both past and present. I recommend anyone coming to do one of the two tours available to get the most of your trip here. Just simply walking around the museum is not enough. The tours are between 1-1hr 30 min and you can either tour the grandstand and spectator areas or the stalls for the horses.

Rocky Blanco — Google review

Very interesting place about Derby History, you have to take the tour to the barns to see the horses but you have to be older than 8 years old. The history tour is very interesting and it was so cool to hear about the history and care they give to the horses definitely a must seen spot of Louisville 😉

P?a Ponce — Google review

Worth stopping to see even if passing through. The 18 minutes video plays every hour. You can watch it from the second floor or inside the room. I recommend getting to museum at top of the hour to watch The Greatest Race for better appreciation of the museum if you know little to none on this American tradition. The walking tour is great. Tour guide was high in spirits, knowledgeable, and respectful to keep guest in shade on a hot day.

GRAMS — Google review

Book in advance!!! We woke up Saturday morning and decided we would add this to our list for the day. The website showed all times for the tour were still available, so I decided to wait until we got there, since I wasn't sure when we'd arrive. We got there about 2pm and all the tours were full. We still paid full price to see the museum. Plenty of free parking was available! There is a lot to see and do in this small museum. Very informative! My daughter loved the exhibits and being hands on with racing equipment. Secretariat’s exhibit was amazing! The employees were very friendly! The store was a bit over priced and very small. The café closed at 3pm which seemed kind of early too for me.

Tony Krause — Google review

Visited Churchill Downs at Louisville, Kentucky. Loved the museum and watched the history of Churchill Downs too in a 360 degree auditorium screen. Had taken the tour too to see where the most attended and most watched horse race takes place in the United States. Would love to come back to Churchill Downs in May to watch the Derby in person. One can buy different memorabilia from the gift shop too.

Soumyodipta Mukerjee — Google review

A must see for everyone! A fantastic way to explore the rich beauty of the Thoroughbred racehorse and the splendor of the Kentucky Derby. This is a wonderful attraction for all ages. Even if you don't follow the sport, I would recommend a visit. If you love horse racing, you will be in heaven! The short film, " The Greatest Race" is stunning! I might be addicted because I kept going back to watch it. Warning, it may give you goosebumps and a sudden urge to buy a racehorse!Let's not forget, there is a gift shop. I absolutely loved the displays. The products are quality and the prices are reasonable.Oh, and I must mention one of the most important parts... The customer service is excellent! The staff is friendly, fun and knowledgeable. They will make you feel right at home.Take my advice, just go and enjoy yourself!

Jackie Raczka — Google review

I visited the museum as part of its annual Horses and Haunts Tour during October. Our guides Heather and Molly were excellent guides, providing a lot of history to this native and Derby attendee (for 45+ years)! It was super cool to see the track at night and hear these stories under the hallowed spires. Highly recommend visiting the museum and taking advantage of this tour every October!

Nancy Graham — Google review

Great museum with helpful staff. Be sure to sign up for the track tour, it's included in your ticket. If you love horse racing I would plan to spend a few hours here. Staff was helpful and gave great suggestions of exciting past Derby races to watch. Bathrooms were clean and well stocked. Highly recommend visiting for horse racing fans. Girl Scouts have an opportunity to earn a patch here as well.

Tonja Suttles — Google review

This is a must if you are in Louisville and are interested in the history of horse racing. Our tour guide Max was wonderful- we took a chance on the day that we went and were blessed to have seen an actual horse race which was for selling of the horses. There is a lot of history- we highly recommend that when you take the tour you ask as many questions as you possibly can as it makes it more interesting for both you as a spectator and for the tour guides as well. The museum has a lot of information so plan to spend a good amount of time there. It is also interesting for kids of all ages - there are video horse races that you can choose your own horse and ride and control the horse, there are life-size mannequins and horses of great history and there is even a mock starting gate for you to climb onto a horse for a great photo opportunity. Should you get a bit hungry there is the Derby Cafe where you can get a quick bite to eat however check for when it is open as it was closed on Sunday which we were aware of and plan for accordingly. Highly recommend

linda gibson — Google review

Loved it! Did one of the tours, so worth it. Make sure to book a tour ahead of time. Would love to go back to do one of the other tours that were already sold out on our only day there. The museum was neat to walk around. Also, I loved the movie, got me a little emotional.

Jason Korey Wallendal — Google review

Really awesome displays! The 360° film was a must see, very nicely done! I have never been to the Kentucky Derby, but after visiting the museum, I'm seriously considering attending!

Tommy Daniel — Google review

Really cool to be on the grounds of something that you've only seen on TV completely packed with people. The museum gave a great history of the race, the grounds, the horses and the jockeys. The 360 degree movie was super heartwarming and a great addition to the museum. The track tour was cool. The facts about the grounds were very interesting. There is a lot of construction going on right now so the cranes and such were in a lot of my photos. The staff helping in the front were not super friendly or helpful with providing what was available that day. The entire thing was definitely something to see, not sure if I'll be back again.

Teresa Zorzi-Kowalczyk — Google review

The behind the scenes tour was phenomenal- Barry, the guide was extremely passionate, patient and knowledgeable. His passion for the Derby was infectious! The actual museum was interesting but nothing compared to being able to drive past the stables , talk to the hands and hear all of the interesting rid bits. The gift shop was reasonably priced and offered a wide variety of souvenirs to satisfy a passionate enthusiast and casual stroller

Kelly Barger — Google review

What a great find! The KY Derby Museum was better than I expected. They have an excellent film and a beautiful museum that covers all parts of horse racing - horses, jockeys, trainers, owners, and Churchill Downs, and more. The trackside tour is informative and engaging. We saw a few horses and riders on the course, too.We also purchased the Barn & Backside Tour. It was cool to see some of the Derby horses already housed here. We saw a few horses arriving in preparation for the Derby.

Cindy Clough — Google review

Fantastic museum. The movie at the beginning of the tour is wonderful. Would have loved to see more of Churchill Downs. The regular tour just takes you to one spot in the stands and that's all.

Came to the Kentucky Derby Museum on a whim, ended up having an amazing time! Johnny Bourbon behind the bar was a real gem! He made the made the museum experience exceptional for both the kids and big kids alike. Everyone working at the museum was awesome. Highly recommend the museum and the bourbon bar, ask for Johnny Bourbon!

Jill P. — Google review

We were visiting from out of state and specifically stopped in this area to visit Churchill Downs. There were not races at the time, but we did visit the museum and I will say it was amazing, even my non-horsey family enjoyed this experience. If you plan to visit, I would recommend purchasing tickets prior to arrival, this will ensure you are not spending a long amount of time in line, it will also preserve your space to see the track tour which is awesome. The docents that walk you into the track have years of Churchill Downs track experience and love sharing their experiences and track history with you. The visual inside the track is beautiful and a great picture opportunity. If you get an early enough walk through you may get to see horses working out on the track. Also, while there be sure to watch the track movie. It is extremely well done and touching if you are at all interested in horses, horse racing, or are just the idea. The museum is two floors with the first floor dedicated to track and track racing history. The second floor is dedicated to exhibits about Secretariat (racehorse), D. Wayne Lukas (trainer), and Bill Shoemaker (jockey), they are all very well done.I would also recommend, at the end of your visit, taking a stop into their cafe and try out a Mint Julip and one of their sandwiches.Overall, this was a great experience at $20/person, I would definitely recommend visiting this gorgeous museum.

Melissa Bollschweiler — Google review

If your a horse person this is a must stop. We stopped here on our way up to Indianapolis and I am glad we did. We really enjoyed all the history there as well as seeing where secretariat raced at as well as other famous horses. We for sure be back soon

An amazing place to visit. We went there this mid-week in a large group and bought tickets in advance. The experience was very good. We learned many things about the Kentucky Derby and all of its history. All the guides were super friendly and cordial. We had the guided tour which was a very unique experience to learn and visit this museum. There was a 360 degree movie called "The Greatest Race" included in the tour. That was a unique experience to have. There was a gift shop there that has a large variety of souvenirs and hats. Overall, this museum is very good to explore. If you get the chance to explore Louisville in Kentucky, I would definitely suggest having this in your list.

We had a wonderful time. We were there 4 days prior to the dirby so it was a little busy. Our tour was very educational and worth the cost.

As people who aren't into horse racing we weren't sure if we would like this museum. Definitely glad we went. It was far more enjoyable than I ever expected. Made me want to go see a horse race the next time we are in town.

This museum in Louisville, Kentucky is a must-see for fans of baseball bats. The museum has a factory tour that charts the journey of a bat from a humble piece of wood to an expertly made professional baseball bat. Other noteworthy exhibits include the world's largest bat, Buds Batting Cage, and interactive displays like Babe Ruth's batting helmet. The Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory is easily recognizable by its towering 120-ft steel baseball bat, the Worlds Biggest Bat.

A fascinating place for baseball fans as well as those with just a passing knowledge of the game. Watch bats being created out of blocks of wood. When we were there, they were making bats for opening day. You can also get a personalized bat. There are displays highlighting baseball greats and other unique facets of the sport. A great attraction and an easy walk from downtown.

Totally awesome tour and definitely worth it. All of my kids enjoyed it. The free mini bat is a nice touch either. Keeping four boys from poking each other with them is a different story. After the tour you get to see the museum which has some nice extra items in it. We came on a holiday on the fourth of July weekend and only had to wait 10 minutes for a tour to start.

Zach Garia — Google review

If you like baseball history you will luv this place. They give you a great tour of the factory where they make 4000 bats per day. They also have lots of pro baseball items you can buy that are signed. At the end of the tour you get a free souvenir bat. You can use the batting cages or check out the bat cave and gift shop. Ez parking.

J P — Google review

As a former baseball player, it was a really cool experience to see where these bats are made. Also, the amount of time and dedication they take to craft each one. It was also cool to bat in the cages to test out different players' bats. I would definitely recommend it to someone who played baseball before or someone who appreciates woodworking!

Had a great time. I'm not a huge baseball fan, but this was an awesome tour. They have a bat vault that is really cool. Bats that past famous MLB players used. The tour is worth the money, really learn a lot about the bat and the wood. Also a good place to purchase a bat

Brad Hayes — Google review

If you you baseball and its history, this is a place you must visit! The visit includes a tour inside the factory where you can see how bats are made. The exhibitions are simply amazing! You can hold a bat that belonged to Babe Ruth in 1933, you can see bats from Joe Di Magio, Roberto Clemente, Jackie Robinson, Roger Maris, Tyler Cobb, and some other legends. You can buy nice souvenirs at the gift store and even get a customized bat. I highly recommend this museum.

Francisco Cappai — Google review

This was a pretty cool tour as it was in a real production facility where they are not afraid to show off the pride of their product. Overall, it is always cool to support a family business even if it is a big one. Pro tip: they give everyone who takes the tour a mini bat which saves on souvenirs for large family groups. Pro tip #2: they laser print all types of bats for gifts and it is pretty quick.

Chris Manning — Google review

Fantastic place if you even have a remote interest in baseball. I would say if you enjoy watching stuff get made or are into woodworking you would enjoy the place. The tour guide did a great job explaining what was on the factory floor. The museum had great exhibits and you can even hold bats used by the greats of the game.

Bryan Monaco — Google review

Great tour, even for those that are not baseball fans. Understanding the entire process and watching them mill the bats and varnish them by hand was fun. Highly recommend for all ages.

J. D. — Google review

Unique museum. If you are a baseball fan this is a must see. We were just passing through and have been wanting to stop.Tour was interesting and museum was nicely done. Different areas to explore. We spent about an hour here. Our seven year old enjoyed it as well!

Anna Zoromski-Linde — Google review

Nice space with some free exhibits, but if you want to enter the museum portion and/or do the tour, there is a fee.I think the tour is a must try for fans. It was interesting to hear about and see the process. AND they give you a mini bat of your own at the end of the tour. When we went early in the morning, there was no wait for the tour, BUT when my friend wanted to do the tour later in the day, she would have had to wait about 1.5 hour for her tour group. So, buy the tour ticket early if you plan to attend around the noon time.

We needed a stop on our road-trip from MN to Panama City Beach to break it up and stretch our legs and let me tell you this didn’t Disappoint!! Our teenage kids Loved stopping here and doing the tour! They were all very happy that we decided to do it! As parents that was a success! Best part is, Each person got a Mini Bat as keepsake with Tour Ticket Cost! No need to spend anymore in gift shop! 2-4-1 ⚾️

Jen&Odie Fogleson — Google review

We really enjoyed this place! Great tour and I learned so much! I'm not a baseball fan, yet the rich history of the game, the process of making the bats, and learning about the players was incredibly interesting. I definitely recommend visiting, you will not be disappointed. We also got customized bats made. Very reasonably priced and it was only about a 15-20 minute wait.

Kristi U — Google review

I think this is a must see quick trip to see a working piece of history. Tour lasts about 30 minutes and you have to be assigned to a tour time. Awesome to see the inner workings of how the Louisville Slugger bat is created. There are other things to look at and learn including a batting cage. I was in and out in an hour and felt good about my time spent. Check it out while in Louisville.

The K Green Show — Google review

This was worth the whole trip! We bought tickets the night before for the first tour on a Friday. So much cool stuff! The tour was cool because you were right inside the factory where they make the bats! They let you take all the pictures you wanted and hold all types of bats! And at the end of the tour they give you a miniature slugger bag to take home! Big souvenir shop! I would go again!

logan white — Google review

Really fun for families and baseball fans. The tour is easy and is with a guide. You walk through different setups in the factory and they play short videos with more information. At the end you get a mini slugger, watch out for everyone who gets super lit to get them - they start swinging. There are other parts to visit including a history area with mannequin/statues of famous players. They also have a bat room. And the batting cage is fun if you have the time.

D J — Google review

This place is beyond AWESOME! Where else in the world can you get a picture of yourself holding Babe Ruth's actual bat? A must see if you visit Louisville and you get a free mini bat at the end of the tour!

Matthewseven13 — Google review

My wife has talked about Louisville Slugger Museum for as long as I've known her. It has an extremely strong anchor to baseball, especially professional baseball. All the majors, leagues and players, get their bats from here. It is where their bats are made. At this museum, you can see how bats are made, from the selection of the tree to the cut and shape of the bats. It features a tour of the factory itself and ends with its own museum of baseball history. It is a fascinating tour for anyone, whether you are interested in baseball or not. It is a highly recommended tour of Americana.

Larry Henry — Google review

Super fun experience! There's an area that's free to go in, along with the gift shop, but a paid tour is available, as well! The whole museum is well worth the visit! Tours are reasonably priced and done in small groups. Will definitely be back again.

Amanda Scudder — Google review

This is fun place for baseball fan especially for a hitter. You can watch how a baseball bat was made from a log to a famous product. You truly walked into the factory to see it. The museum part also exhibits lots of MLB famous batters! At the end of the factory tour, you'll receive a mini hand bat as a souvenir. A Place for all ages and family fun!! Recommended!!

Peng Hsu — Google review

This is a great American Historical site. The Great American Ball Game, was "shaped" and influenced by the production of these bats. We loved learning the history, and seeing how these bats were made.

Curtis DeJong — Google review

Tour guide was extremely knowledgeable. Friendly and tickets were reasonably priced.Gift shop is a bit expensive for the products that they have available to buy. Guess that’s to be expected. Can find similar items online for half the price.Other than that, overall good experience.

mike mayville — Google review

Greeted by the World's Largest Baseball Bat right out of the museum. I ended up taking the tour here and they show you beginning to end, the production of the bat. Starting from the piece of wood, how it was cut back in the day. Nowadays with machinery, you see how quick production can be. You get to see every step of the way from the carving of the machine, to a slope test, to the sanding machine and then they are finished in with some paint. Lastly some are branded and then ready to go for use! Overall nice tour and you get a small souvenir bat out of it. Very nice!

Josh Baltazar — Google review

Awesome museum! Great to learn about the history and how they used to make the bats and to now walk through the factory and see bats being made. Highly recommend you visit if your into baseball at all. I'm not a baseball fan but enjoyed it. They also have a batting cage and small 20min movie about the bats.

Kevin Bittner — Google review

Great museum and if you're a lover of baseball, then this is a must do! The tour includes walking through the actual factory while the bats are being made, which I found to be the best part of the tour. The tour guide also went into the science of how they're put together. You also get to take home a nice token... you guess it, a miniature Louisville slugger bat.

Heidi Morales-Hake — Google review

I’m a big baseball fan and I really enjoyed the tour! Learning about where the wood is sourced and seeing a bat being made was very special. After the tour you can go to the batting cage and try out bats that are replicas of the pros both current and historic. My favorite bat is Hank Aaron’s, I had to try Babe Ruth’s bat too, it’s HUGE and hard to swing. If you don’t have time for the whole tour you can just go to the batting cage and gift shop. There also a movie that talks about the history of the game and Louisville Sluggers roll. I’ll be back again!

Gabe Martin — Google review

An essential part of the Louisville visitor experience! While I enjoy the sport, I confess I'm not that into baseball - but this was such a fascinating experience and should not be missed. Heads up for my fellow air travelers: the museum will ship your souvenir mini bats for just $10 (bundle them together to save!).

Muhammad Ali Center is a museum dedicated to the life and legacy of Muhammad Ali, who was a renowned boxer and activist. The museum has several exhibits on Ali's boxing career and spiritual life as well as videos, memorabilia, and historical documents of his life. It is located in downtown Louisville, Kentucky.

If you are in Louisville and you get a chance, GO VISIT The Muhammad Ali Center. This was beyond an experience, it was a spiritual experience as well. I was supposed to go with a group of people, but I’m so glad I didn’t! I loved experiencing this place by myself. I could take my time reading, and sitting and just enjoying every moment without people rushing or talking to me while I’m trying to enjoy the moment. I’m so glad I went, and enjoyed this beautiful place. Go visit, you will absolutely love it!

Ra_enHERgy Wellness LLC — Google review

Great place to see the life of Muhammad Ali displayed. I think those of us that lived through this time did not realize his true impact on the world. This center does a wonderful job of laying outbreaks history, his struggles and his contributions to the world. A truly amazing human being. Well worth spending some time in Louisville to see this exhibit. It will amaze and inspire you or it should 😊

Mark Hayes — Google review

Very cool museum, gives an in-depth look at Muhammad Ali ho he was as a person and as a boxer. He truly was great and did a lot for his people, inspiring people to be the best versions of themselves and to believe in their dreams! I highly recommend visiting some cool merchandise in the gift shop. Look at the attached pics and videos!

Well worth a visit! They have done a great job preserving Ali's legacy. Lots of interactive exhibits, lots to learn and see. Took my nephew there for his 17th birthday and we had a great time.

Angie Myers — Google review

Nice museum and tribute to "The Greatest". Experience starts with a 15 minute movie walking through his life story, then you work your way through 3 floors of more detailed history, memorabilia, and then some interactive stuff at the end. Also has some art and special exhibit areas. Left the museum know a lot more about Muhammad Ali, his life and his passions.

Kevin M — Google review

If you are a Muhammad Ali fan you have to visit at least once. The upper floor is the primary exhibit and really tells his complete career and belief story. You can watch all of his best fights in their entirety on the 4th floor. Only minor disappoint was the lack of memorabilia. I thought there would be a lot more given his prominence.

Christopher Riggs — Google review

KJ is an excellent director, with a passion for sharing Ali's life with everyone who visits. His professionalism, knowledge, and love for all things of Ali exudes from his personality as he speaks and walks you through the center if you are lucky enough to meet him.Expect to spend several hours as you wander through the 3 floors. The Center is well organized and depicts Ali's life through success and challenges.Thank you for making our "personal" tour possible!Make sure you go see Ali's childhood home also, located at 3302 Grand Ave. You can walk right up to the front door and take pictures.

Stacy C — Google review

He's a legend, but given the size of the building you could have fit four legends. His life is amazing, but they tried too hard to fill the space with lack of his life's material and the result is a thin spread of something that could have been said on one floor instead of 3+. If you're in the area, why not visit. But, you have better options elsewhere.

Berele — Google review

Spectacular museum. Very detailed information about Ali’s boxing career. Lots of explanation rooms and the chance to see most of his fights. There are also interactive areas where you can pretend to train like him. Worth a whole day visit!Highly recommended!!

Such a great place to represent and show how great of a person and boxer Muhammad Ali was and his story! A lot of cool and fun boxing interactions and kids will enjoy this as well! You should give it a visit!

Tim Williams — Google review

Was in town for a work trip so we took some time to visit the museum which I didn't know existed. So glad we did. It's a great tribute to Ali. I learned so much more outside of him being a boxing champion. A must visit If you're ever in Louisville.

Tammy Brown — Google review

From the moment you step foot into the museum, you are transported into the world of Muhammad Ali. The exhibits are thoughtfully curated, showcasing the remarkable achievements, struggles, and the indomitable spirit of this legendary figure. Through a combination of artifacts, interactive displays, multimedia presentations, and personal stories, the museum paints a vivid picture of Ali's life and his impact on society. One of the highlights of the museum is the collection of tangible evidence of Muhammad Ali's greatness. You can see his iconic boxing gloves, championship belts, and even the robe he wore during some of his most memorable fights. These artifacts serve as a tangible reminder of the battles he faced inside the ring and the triumphs he achieved against all odds.

Meidya Derni — Google review

What a great museum dedicated to the great Muhammad Ali. We spent about an hour and a half walking through the various exhibits starting with his childhood and early years, and finishing with his later years. They have a great deal of memorabilia and can't believe there's so much about his life that you wouldn't know unless you've read/studied his life. There's also a short film available for viewing and a section playing some of his most notable fights. If you have time and find yourself in Louisville, I highly recommend visiting the Muhammad Ali Center.

Heidi Morales-Hake — Google review

Would definitely go again. I cried and laughed within 30 seconds of each other. Not only does the Muhammad Ali Center pay a wonderful tribute to the boxer and activist. The museum also has artwork from other people, including temporary installments.I went on Martin Luther King Jr day, and it was free entry to all in observation. Also, the view from the 5th floor, outside of the video orientation theater, has got to be one of the best indoor views in the city.

Lew Fox — Google review

Nice place to know more about Muhammad Ali life story. Some of his belongings are shown. They tried to make the place exciting by showing his matches.Could be better if they add a tour guide or you could find one easy. There is a good parking lot right behind the building and it is not pricey.

Banafsheh Beheshtipour — Google review

A great experience. The museum is laid out beautifully loaded with interesting displays. Tons of memorabilia and film footage. You also learn a lot about Ali, the person. So glad we came. It's fascinating.

Wow! Our students could have stayed here all day. The history and interactive exhibits make for a fun way to share history through this sports legend. Our trolley ride through his life also was an added benefit! We will definetly come again!

Something for the Bucket List that I never knew it was on!I happened to have an extended layover, since I knew this was Muhammad Ali's hometown, I searched to see if there was any sort of landmark to visit and found this, not far from the hotel! I'm glad to find the Center, containing a few pieces of memorabilia, displayed along with documentation of Ali's history!I thought this was an excellent tribute to the man who was not only an exceptional athlete, but an exceptional human being! I recommend anyone visiting Louisville to spend an afternoon here, it was well worth it!

Bridge

Sights & Landmarks

The Big Four Bridge spans 2,520 feet across the Ohio River linking Louisville Waterfront Park with Jeffersonville in Indiana. At night, the bridge is illuminated with colorful decorative lights that create an amazing spectacle.

Beautiful 1800s rail bridge connecting Kentucky and Indiana. Now just for pedestrians, no pets. Kept clean and LED lit by private group. Gorgeous park on the Kentucky side close to Lincoln memorial and kids' park and splash pad, hot dog stand and bathrooms. Cute shops and cafes on the Indiana side. Easy to walk, bike, etc. while enjoying the panoramic views.

Felicia Ainsa — Google review

A very peaceful and relaxing walking trail bridge across the Ohio river and connecting two states.Very beautifully converted 19th century railroad bridge. One will also learn the history along its way.Suitable for all ages and also for physically challenged. An exclusive approach path, a spiraling pathway starting straight from the parking lot is creative and impressive.A nice view of the cities on either side of both the states and of the river is very refreshing.

T RS — Google review

Absolutely amazing! Walking across the Big Four Bridge is a delightful experience that offers stunning views of the Ohio River and the Louisville skyline. The pedestrian path is wide and well-maintained, making it a great option for walkers, joggers, and cyclists of all ages. At nearly a half-mile long, the bridge provides a good workout while showcasing the city's scenic beauty. Don't forget to check out the vibrant lighting displays that illuminate the bridge at night!

Santhosh Alladi — Google review

Had seen this bridge from I-65 many times over the years. My wife and I made an 80 mile drive from our Indiana home to check it out. It was well worth it. An easy walking experience and great scenery. People were friendly by saying Hello when you passed. Glad we did it!

stubby lee — Google review

One of our favorite places to go. A beautiful bridge with beautiful scenery. The walk from Indiana to Kentucky is not bad at all and is completely worth it. I proposed to my beautiful wife here and it will forever hold a special place in my heart. 10/10 recommend for anyone in the area! It even has a park on both ends for your children to play at.

Craig Martin — Google review

A great stroll between two states. It is an easy walk from KY to IN. Beautiful place with lots of great views. Benches placed along the bridge for those who need a rest. There are many opportunities for scenic photos. If you have the time, you definitely should try to take a walk across this beautiful bridge! This is an excellent asset for the community and its visitors.

We took our family to do this walk with some friends. We are from out of town, and loved it! Great way to get outside and enjoy the views and get exercise. Best of all, it’s FREE! There’s also an awesome playground on the KY side of the bridge entry. Our kids loved that, too! Can’t wait to come back!

Amanda Nelson Cushing — Google review

A perfect place to walk exercise, and see the Louisville skyline, Ohio River, Waterfront Park from the Bridge. Extremely impressed with the entire experience,....the bridge is lit up at night and the colors change often, the bridge itself was free of liter, well-kept

Steven Goode — Google review

Very nice pedestrian bridge that crosses the Ohio River and has stunning city views. My family and I walked this bridge on a pretty hot day and wished there was at least one spot for a break for some shade, but the shade created by parts of the bridge provided some nice shade with a forgiving breeze. I don't believe pets were allowed on the bridge nor those pay-by-time electric scooters (they shut down on the bridge). I did see a few bicycles on the bridge, so I assume they were allowed. Surprising classical music was playing at one end of the bridge. A nice and cute surprise. If you walk on a hotter day, make to bring water as there were not many options nearby on either end for refreshments. I would like to visit this bridge again at sunset/night for even more spectacular views!

Hazel LePage — Google review

This is the third time, I think, I’ve been up here and it’s amazing every time. The views are great and it’s nice to have something to do in downtown that’s free.Only issue I have is the number of motorized scooters flying through.Oh, and if you go at night, make sure to be careful up against the railing…a lot of spiders hang out there 🤢

Heather Parsons-Phillips — Google review

We had a great time at the park. The kids loved the splash pad and the play grounds . The Swings for the adults were nice too.

Lisa Tritch — Google review

You absolutely need to check this out especially if it's your first time in Louisville. It was well worth the walk across to see beautiful views of the river and downtown. If you walk all the way across you'll find yourself in Indiana which makes for a fun experience in itself. The Indiana side has a bunch of cute restaurants and plaza area to enjoy. The bridge lights up at night for an even more special experience. We spent about an hour here. Heads up though, no pets, no scooters or motorized bikes on the bridge.

Kat Pittman — Google review

So pretty at night and cute simple day or night date night idea. The police are always out and about and great place to have a convo without too many distractions. You get a good view of the city and also a good way to stay social and active. The air also smells better then the air lower in the city lol

Somalia Moore George — Google review

Great place for my morning walk. It’s nice watching the sunrise over the Ohio river. It puts things into perspective and starts the day off right . All of the people who use this bridge are pretty friendly and it’s not uncommon to hear a good morning during the walk. The views of the city from hear can’t be beat even with a basic camera you can still get some great shots in. If you are a airplane enthusiast you can get some great pictures of aircraft coming into the city.

Scott Evans — Google review

I recently walked on the bridge from the Kentucky side to the Indiana side. The bridge is a wonderful way to view the river and both sides of the river including the Louisville skyline and Watefont Park and historic Jeffersonville IN.It is a great way to exercise and enjoy the beauty of nature and the river. There are benches if you want to linger. I walked into Jeffersonville where many shops and restaurants are in close proximity to the ramp that accesses the bridge.A stroll along the river on both sides is a treat also. I highly recommend giving the bridge and the surrounding areas a visit.

Sue ODaniel — Google review

So much fun and it is definitely safe. There are officers everywhere; on both the Ky side and Indiana side. It is so beautiful at night and the downtown skyline is awesome. Bathroom doors close at like 9pm so there’s that, but everything else is nice. Check it out.

What a beautiful day for a walk across the bridge. End to end is a mile. Beautiful park (with water features for kids) on KY side and unique shops and restaurants on IN side. Bikes can go down the middle and pets are not allowed on bridge. Several places to sit and rest along the way.

Zoo

Zoos & Aquariums

The Louisville Zoo is a small but unique zoo that offers wedding ceremonies and receptions with animal habitats. Guests can mingle during the co*cktail hour around one of many different exhibits, such as Africa or South America.

We went for the Wild Lights night walk and it was amazing! It lasted about 2 hours, and we were able to get in a little ahead of our scheduled time and there was no feeling of being rushed or pushed along. A very go with the glow kind of walk.Every turn you take is a new light up display you weren't expecting! There are so many animals, plants, and fun facts about each section! It's also got several interactive installments that make the experience even more fun. And there is relaxing music playing throughout the Zoo as well.A great experience for kids, adults, and the whole family! It is a bit of a trek, but Louisville Zoo has restrooms, benches, and concessions throughout the campus to allow for any needed breaks.I've posted just a few pictures because I don't want to spoil the experience, but these are a couple of my favorites from the night. We are going back to the zoo in the day because this is our first visit to this one!Edit: added a few pictures from our trip the next day, and it was still so fun, even got to see baby Fitz! Would recommend sunscreen and water bottles for sure!

We had a great time with the kids, most of the big cats were hiding or sleeping and that's the only disappointment. Quick and easy to enter the park but food is really pricey so I'd suggest eating before or after you leave the park or leave to eat and re-ennter. Fun day overall.

Andrew Lucas — Google review

I have been going to this zoo for As long as I can remember. It's always been a very clean and friendly zoo. And just a great experience that even now my own kids love. I will say summer months are the best time to go more of the animals are active enduring the winter months a lot of the attractions are closed. But nevertheless, the food is always good in the park is always clean. Can't wait to see what they have in store next

Zachary Casey — Google review

My daughters first trip to the Zoo for her 3rd birthday. We had a blast! I will say there were quite a few exhibits that were closed or looked rough, and we honestly didn't really see all that many animals. Idk if it was the time if day (late afternoon) or just an off weekend but I definitely expected more to be going on with the animals. But they can't be up and out constantly so I think we just caught them at nap time 😊

Ashley Dobbs — Google review

There were very few people there, so a lot of things were closed. But we had a great time, everything was well maintained, and the staff we saw were very friendly and informative. We were able to walk through an exhibit with loose wallabies, three of which had babies. The giraffes were so beautiful. We saw a baby zebra, a baby elephant, among others. The zoo is working to save endangered species. The lorakeet exhibit was amazing. I had two land on me to drink nectar from my cup. Most animals that were inside to get out of the drizzling rain, we could still see or get glimpses of through the clever viewing angles and variety of viewing spots. I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt with the five stars, because I feel that if everything was open the experience would have been even better! We sit at the African Outpost. The food wasn’t amazing, but was much better than I’d expect from a tourist site. They actually had gluten-free buns. We had a burger and fries, and it was certainly better than fast food.

Deborah ?Debbie? Schultz — Google review

We arrived at opening and enjoyed two hours of exploring with no crowds. This is a fun zoo with lots of interesting animals and creative enclosures. The walk includes inclines and declines but all are easily conquered. There are plenty of food and drink options well dispersed throughout the park. The staff is friendly and helpful.

PARKING: I bought a parking ticket online, and it was easy to find a spot. We didn't have to walk far. They have a parking lot.ADMISSION: I bought the tickets online. I paid around $20 per person (adult). I thought the price was decent. We went on a Friday afternoon, and there was no line to buy tickets. I could've bought the tickets in person.CLEANLINESS: I used the restrooms, and it was clean and had soap and papertowels. toilet paper and dryer. Also, each enclosure and section of the zoo are kept clean.FOOD/DRINKS: They had water stations by the bathroom where you can get filtered water. The alcoholic drinks are priced super high. We got a pink cone with dole ice cream. It was good and pretty for pictures.SHADE: It was hot. Some parts had shade but mostly expect to bring sunscreen, especially if you burn easily. They had buildings with air-conditioning.ANIMALS: I've been to plenty of zoos, and this zoo is the first zoo that I can tell animals are happy. They were active. Their enclosures are very clean. You can tell that they are healthy. I didn't smell any foul smell. Usually, the zoo stinks, but not this one. One orangutan even interacting with us! She was very curious and gave everyone that comes in signal to look inside their bags. Some animals were sleeping, and some were playing. They had things in their enclosure that kept them entertained. We got there around 2 or 3 p.m., and they don't close until 6 pm. But they stop serving food and drinks around 5 pm. I wished we got there in the morning. We didn't get to see everything.TL;DR Admission is decently priced. Animals are active. Plenty of parking. Food and drinks are priced high. They have water stations and the place is clean.

Sofia Dumlao — Google review

I had a great time at the Louisville Zoo. They have a great variety of animals that they take great care of. I found the Zoo to be very easy to navigate, clean, and packed! It is a great spot to bring children during the summer. There were a decent amount of seating options and benches around the park which I certainly enjoyed on the hot June day I went. Definitely bring a bottle of water and sunscreen if you are going during the hot summer months!

Jack Furlong — Google review

Visited with my daughter and grandsons and it was wonderful! The staff was informative, knowledgeable and friendly. The zoo is laid out well making it possible to visit every exhibit without it being exhausting. Lots of places to sit in the shade and refresh. Kids enjoyed the water park. I will definitely e going back.

Melissa Horn — Google review

I have visited several times and recommended the winter months. Some animals are not on exhibit, but those that are out are more active, and there are fewer crowds at the exhibits.Tips: Take a stroller or wheelchair if anyone in your party has difficulty walking.Free water bottle re-fill stations around the park. There are 2 playgrounds and several places for photos.

The zoo was fun. I think they could have spent less on the decorations and put more money in exhibits. There was a lot of spaces with no animals to look at. Although it was crowded, everyone was kind and courteous. Love that they had scooters for people with mobility issues. I wish they stayed open later.

We often pick random things to do in our city or surrounding area. Making memories for our son to remember forever is so important. We hadn't been to the zoo in a while and wanted to check it out before we decided on getting a pass this summer. Despite it being snowy and dead and almost everything closed and many animals put indoors, it was still fun! We can't wait to come back in the summer. You could easily spend an entire day here, and it's great exercise!

To start, this is not Sea World or some other huge corporate entertainment facility. I did not go during peak season and it shows. Many food options were closed, not that I needed them. The good news is that there was no wait to see any of the animals! The educators we spoke to were nice and helpful. Overall, pleased with our experience and look forward to some additional activities they host, like brew at the zoo.

adam bachmann — Google review

We went to see the lights. The lights were really nice and fun. Definitely need to wait till it's fully dark to enjoy. The only disappointment was that they put away/blocked off the animal exhibits. We thought we would be getting to see the animals while looking at the lights. $20 per person feels like a but much when we couldn't see the animals as well. It was a nice walk though through the lights.

Elizabeth Young — Google review

We enjoyed our visit, even though the weather wasn't the best! Most of the animals were out, the walking wasn't too bad, but usually zoos keep some things open when the weather is a little less than, but everything was closed. Everything. We've never seen a zoo so closed off, but this is only our fifth one so maybe it's always that way. We also didn't see a single employee the whole time, except for when we were at the gift shop at the very end, which was surprising, especially given the amount of people we saw and some of the behavior of some. We're going to try to come back on a nicer day to see if maybe our first impression wasn't totally accurate. Worth a visit!

Amazing!! I was surprised to see that many animals in Louisville zoo. Be prepared to walk, walk and walk. They do have a shuttle golf cart and the trail is wheel chair accessible. It’s worth the money and I would visit again. It’s a must see if you have limited time.

Yinka A — Google review

The zoo was very well maintained and not too crowded. It was hot, the random misters on the path were a welcomed surprise. My son was thrilled to see both an African Elephant and an Asian Elephant. We went on a Sunday. The zoo had a nice variety of animals to see. Parking was easy once my husband stopped following Google maps instructions that told him to loop the circle a few times.

Jennifer LaPenta — Google review

It was educational as there were staff through the park to talk about certain animals as well as displays. We enjoyed seeing the animals, of course. I didn't like seeing some of the animals without a companion, but that happens sometimes. They are set up for the evening Halloween event, so getting to see the decorations throughout the zoo was nice. Parking was cheaper than I thought it would be. My family had fun visiting.

Kelly Hall — Google review

This zoo has a very good spread of animals that were all very well cared for and easy to see. My family went on an overcast Saturday and got into the zoo with no wait and saw almost all of the animals, save ones not at the zoo entirely. With that being said, this is obviously an old zoo and some parts of the facilities are clearly in need of updates. This does not affect the animals, but the consumer experience. They are clearly aware of these as some parts of the zoo were under renovation. If you do plan to go to the zoo, plan on bringing your own snacks and food. There were places to stop regularly throughout the zoo, but the prices were fairly steep for the items, as to be expected.I recommend ending your visit with a stop at the gift shop. These facilities are incredibly nice and have a wide range of items and prices to offer. All and all a great family or couple experience!

I love it. I had to rent a wheel chair, but i got to sell it all they have an amazing dusk light show.it really must be so spectacular at night time . We were not able to stay.

It's always an amazing time. Louisville Zoo is one of the most beautiful zoos in the country. The membership is awesome! The enclosures are beautiful. Our family loves the zoo!!!!

Christy Jackman — Google review

Very busy zoo. Get your tickets in advance if you don't want to spend an hour in line. The exhibits were very nice, and the animals were very active. We caught feeding time for the elephants, which even did tricks!

Marcy Kyser — Google review

I took my family over to enjoy the festivities and see all of the wonderful artwork. It was quite chilly that day, but the animals were very active, brilliant . It was the last time we got to see the male orangutan who sadly passed and will be missed dearly.

I have been coming to this zoo since I was a small child and now bringing my kids back brings me such joy!! We have moved away and I live in the DC area and am near to •many• zoos.I will say this- the pricing-the parking-the lay out and the enclosures of the Louisville have kept it in the top 5 zoos for me!!They have continued to update enclosures, animal areas, and buildings. The silver back gorillas enclosure is one of a kind!! My kids absolutely love being that close to these animals! The goat petting area is always a hit! MThe elephant area is very neat to visit- the openness of the outside enclose for visitors to see is always a treat! One of my favorite things about this zoo is the seasonal decorations it will have! Such as Chinese new year, Christmas.. etcAnd when they are in season the camel riding is always a treat! (The camel riding is an extra fee)My kids LOVE the carousel at the end!!The splash pad is great during the summer!! (This is free to use!)The educational “shows” are excellent- and while every animal isn’t out all the time that is VERY normal for a zoo! My kids LOVE coming to KY to visit family and go to the zoo!!The gift shop prices are average for animal gift shops- the food prices are average for canteens and restaurants in zoos and aquariums.Because it is Kentucky the layout of the zoo lends itself to the hilly terrain- which is unavoidable. I have walked this zoo pregnant, I’ve also walked it pushing a double stroller while carrying an infant. I have walked it with my grandparents who have both been in wheelchairs- though hilly it is still an easy zoo to walk.We love this zoo and won’t be told otherwise!

Sarah O — Google review

We went to zoo to see the Lights in Fall 2023. They were awesome and we were still able to see a fee animals too. This exhibit is great for kids of all ages and our college kid loved it too.

Alana Cassity — Google review

The sculptures were so interesting and pretty. This was the first time I visited this zoo. It appears they are updating some of the enclosures to be more realistic to the natural habitats of the animals. I hope they continue this.

Melissa Smith — Google review

We decided to take the day off and drive to the zoo. They have a special for $7.95 on Monday. We had a blast. The facility is clean, the kids were happy, there are a ton of shady areas and places to sit and rest. They have free water stations throughout the park which is probably my favorite part.

Rachel Rice — Google review

Their enclosures need to be reviewed by an inspector because some of them are pretty unsafe for the public. The warthog enclosure is one good push away from having a child inside the enclosure. They have a wonderful bird exhibit. They charge for parking which is absolutely ridiculous considering people are coming to pay for the zoo. So on top of your admission you also have to pay for parking! They find every way to nickle and dime you. If they have a problem with people parking there and then leaving the property, then a quick tow truck call can fix that right up! We are active duty military and we had to pay 48 for a family of 3. Their price online says admission is $10 a person, but we very quickly found out that was a lie. We were told military get in free but that didn't happen for us. This is a big zoo and none of the outdoor vendor spots were open to sell hot cocoa or any food. The gift shop was highly overpriced. I just don't feel like this zoo really invests their money into their animals. It is clear the donors are the ones really paying for the upkeep of these animals.

Louisville Mega Cavern is a subterranean recreation center that offers activities such as zip lines, ropes courses, and underground bike park. It's one of the most popular attractions in Louisville due to its various adventure-focused activities.

This adventure was the best idea, something different, and it did not disappoint.I registered, purchased tickets, and signed wavers all online and via digital delivery. It was so easy. I pulled up and drove around and found the location. There was not anyone else really around and even though there were signs I didn’t know what to do. I think those main tour doors needed to be construction orange or green with a big clear enter sign enter sign . There are lots of signs and info but needed to be a little more clear and simple..After entering through the side and walking down a creepy hall, I walk into this massive room and there was the tram, and across the giant room was a town façade and waiting area. I made my way over and when walking into the underground welcome center was warmly greeting by seven or so staff. There was a gift shop, snack area, very nice restrooms, and an open indoor ropes course to the side.My tour was the first of the day of a Thursday so that was probably why there was no crowd to follow but it added to the adventure for me! The price was $21.94 and the tour lasted a little over an hour. It was awesome to see the inside and understanding the history and purpose of the cavern and it’s evolution.Shout out my tour guide Skeeter! He was the best! Great guide, extremely funny, and delivering an up beat, educational tour with a side of humor.I won’t give away all the history and stories so there will not be any real spoilers from the tour but I will say this was a great experience and so glad a booked the tram tour. It was definitely something different and fun to do.

Wm. Les Roberts — Google review

Super cool place! I have never taken a tram car thru a cavern before. Our guide was great, too. He explained everything in the cavern and how it was created. It was interesting enough down there to keep my 11 month old grandson occupied. I definitely will be back!FYI, I have night vision on my phone. It is a lot darker than it looks...

Bob Houghtelin — Google review

We had a great time here. We decided on the walking tour, and it was pretty fun. The guide Olivia did a great job. It is a little pricey for what it is, but we are glad we did it. It is so neat down there. It is amazing how large it actually is in person. The entrance is a little weird, and we weren't sure we were in the right place. It is a long hallway that looks abandoned, but eventually opens up to the cave.

Myles Away — Google review

According to the owners quote, they "transform it into a holiday light spectacular for the Christmas season. "If you consider displays of Marvel's avengers, Mario brothers, minions, and tanks to be part of the Christmas season, then I guess the quote is right.Only about half of the 15 minute drive through was holiday-themed. It seems like the rest of it was put into place just as a filler. Not to say it wasn't neat, but it's not as neat as they make it.

Brokk — Google review

The Louisville Mega Cavern tour proved to be a regrettable experience, particularly disappointing for several reasons. First and foremost, my visit did not coincide with the Christmas season, meaning that all the festive lights were packed away except for a few stray decorations lingering visibly, adding to the overall dreariness.Furthermore, the cavern itself is not a natural formation, which diminished the excitement right from the start. The tour primarily focused on the cavern's history as a fallout shelter and a storage site for salt, interspersed with some rather dull videos. This narrative did little to enhance the experience, leaving me questioning the value of the tour. The worst part, however, was the environment within the cavern. The air was thick with a dust reminiscent of a construction site, making it uncomfortable and raising concerns about its quality. Throughout the tour, the main sights were abandoned vehicles, sealed-off doors, and a collection of low-quality props—hardly the engaging or educational content one might expect.Spending $20 and an hour of my time in an artificially excavated, dusty cavern observing these lackluster displays was frustrating. With the money and time at hand, almost any other destination would have provided a better experience. This was the first time I truly felt someone dared to charge $20 for a tour of what felt like a vast, polluted parking garage. The disappointment was profound, and I would strongly advise against this tour for anyone looking for a meaningful or enjoyable outing.

Si Chen — Google review

The zip line tour is so cool, we’re big zip line fans and doing everything in the dark with bright lights was something new and we had a really good time. The tour guides make you feel confident and safe about the whole experience. We really enjoyed ourselves!

LP — Google review

Excellent tour with our tour guide Skeeter. Skeeter did a good job of providing us with laughs while also giving us the history of the caverns. My family and I chose the Tram tour since we have a small child. It is cool in the cavern but not cold. We were fine with a light jacket. It's not really a lot to see if you don't Zipline or do more of the exciting attractions. Kids might get a little bored on the tram.It is a huge place, I think about 17 miles and the tram is about 2 miles long. It's a unique experience and one I'd definitely say to give a try.

We came here to do the Mega Quest aerial adventure course! The guides explained everything well and were friendly and helpful. We felt completely safe and confident in using our gear, the belays are easy and intuitive to use. I liked that it wasn’t a linear course, and you could go through it at your own pace and choose which routes to take. The short zip lines in it were our favorite! You’re also allowed to leave the course at any time to take a break and remove your helmet and gloves, just don’t take off your harness because then you are done. You get two hours on the course which was more than enough time, we even ended up finishing a little early because we were so sore!I recommend short sleeves because you get really sweaty, however personally I’d recommend long pants because with all the ropes on the course, I did get a couple small rope scrapes. Nothing terrible, just keep that in mind! There are lockers to store anything you don’t want to take/wear on the course, but it takes quarters so make sure you bring cash or prepare to use the on site ATM that charges a fee. Make sure to have cash to tip your guides too! They’re working hard for you!We live in Ohio but I’d love to come back some day to try the full zip line course or the tram tour!

Em Horvath — Google review

I purchased the Mega Tram ticket since I was already doing so much walking on my vacation. I called before hand and was told that the Mega Tram and the Mega Walking tours covered the same route. Our tour guide was great and made jokes along the way. The cavern was a pleasant temperature since I visited on the hottest day of the year. Definitely worth seeing if you want a break from the heat of summer but not what I would consider over the top exciting or a must-see. I like caves and caverns so I enjyed it.

Carol Tarcza — Google review

We had a walking tour with Sophia. The tour was informative and interesting. There are a lot of cool facts and funny jokes as you go along. Some cool lights to see as well in the dark. The space could have more cool displays added with time. The adventure gym seems cool and the zip liners seemed to have fun.

Mark Tea — Google review

Much cooler than I expected! Mega Cavern is an old limestone mine that is massive. It has some interesting history as well once being a fallout shelter. Now it is a driving tour, adventure area, zip line tour, light show and even commercial storage. Worth the visit!

Kevin M — Google review

This was an absolutely amazing experience for the whole family. There's a display for everyone. Dinosaurs, Christmas scenes, marvel comics characters, heavy machinery, veterans, Disney and other characters, America/USA, and amazing light shows at several places. Very entertaining and we will definitely be back again. We'll probably take the guided wagon ride through next time just for the better view!

KY CBD Farmacy — Google review

Well worth the cost. Lots to do while waiting. I was disappointed in the gift shop. They seem to have cut back after Covid. Our tour guide was very informative. In the picture of the original caverns look close and see a man standing in the original 60 foot high cavern. They hauled in 40 feet of fill.

David Givan — Google review

So much fun! Everything started on time and we were with a great group. The guides Abby and Bambie so sweet, clear about what was needed for the zip parts and had fun comments to add in. We had a blast.

Jessica Parkinson — Google review

We did the walking tour and it was pretty cool - the lights make it fun and it’s interesting to hear the history of the cavern. Our guide talked a LOT - could be good for people who enjoy awkward jokes and hearing the same voice non-stop, but it wasn’t for us. Might have been better with a different guide. Entrance is through a long hallway, just keep going even if it feels like you’re not at the right place.

Bankura M — Google review

Aaron and Jordan were awesome guides for the zip lining!! We felt safe and had a lot of fun!Best drive thru light show we've ever seen!Highly recommend going and doing these activities. Great family fun!

Awesome must-do adventure!! Very kid friendly! The staff is very attentive and nice, very knowledgeable as well!!! I encourage all ages to try it out. Even if you are afraid of heights they have a low level course. Super fun time and you will definitely get a good workout in

We visited, and went on the walking tour through the Cavern, which is very much worth adding to your list of things to see/do while visiting Louisville. We explored the Cavern with a guide named Sophia, who was very friendly, knowledgeable, and funny. At the end of the tour I asked how many times she had walked the cavern/given the tour. Expecting her answer to be in the hundreds, I was amazed to hear that it was her very first solo tour through the Cavern. She did an absolutely incredible job, and we left with a great bit of interesting information regarding the history of the Cavern, and would absolutely visit again.

Trevor Beardsley — Google review

More then worth the drive. The kids loved it and it was just enough time spent driving thru before it became too much. Xmas Eve was the right time to go and the price wasn't overpriced by any means. Music and lights were fabulous

Nicole Lynn — Google review

A very unique display of lights, nothing compares. If you have your tickets on your phone, there's no reception in the cave at the attendant, so maybe take a picture of it, they do have your name so not a problem

Lonnie Borseth — Google review

10/10 recommend for families. Eat before you arrive (Wendy’s, coffee shop, and Kroger near entrance). No outside food at cave. No good food options in cave. Bring cash to tip. Buy tickets in advance. Lockers available for $1.

Josh Orendi — Google review

Absolutely loved it. We went on a weekday and got there around 10:30 to 11:00. There was no wait and we drove right in. The beginning was good and it just kept getting better and better as we went through. The finale at the end was the best experience. I highly recommend it for both kids and adults as there's plenty to see for both.

Fun & Games

Kart Kountry is a sizable family-friendly amusem*nt park with the most extensive go-kart track in the United States. Besides go-karts, it has plenty of activities such as bumper boats, batting cages, miniature golf, and an arcade to keep visitors of all ages entertained. However, some games may not be available due to maintenance issues at times. While most activities cost six credits or more per game, guests can purchase 100 credits for $22.

It’s an absolute blast. The giant arcade was a little too much for my kids (100+ machines), but the outside activities are the real star of the show. We played putt putt and rode the go-karts. The tickets were just $6 per activity.

Howie Lindsey — Google review

So 4 stars cause half the games was down. Bumper boats not open 😑 batting cages waiting on parts not open. Mini gold courses very well kept. Volcano course is quite a challenge. Most games take 6 credits or more. $22 for 100 credits. The go kart track was awesome if it's nice out you are gonna be waiting for awhile tho. 1 ticket 1 lap. Can't use multiple tickets you get 1 lap and get back in line.

Kayla Adams — Google review

It was my daughter's first time on go car she really did love it. we had a good time also on the bumper boats. The only bad thing about this is i didn't know where to go to get tickets or anything until you walk around in the arcade. There's Nothing pointing you where to go to get started. Just walk around the arcade and you will find it it's kind of at the back.Prices are fair I'm thinking it was $6 for the go-cart one lap and $6 for the bumper boats for 5 minutes. My honest opinion is I wouldn't waste time on the bumper boats but if you have little kids this is great.

Family friendly, fun. Go carts, arcade, batting cages, bumper boats, and putt-putt golf. There was a food truck there bit didn't see what products they offered.

NurseNat 22 — Google review

The whole family had a great time playing video games and skee ball inside. My oldest son and I had a blast on the go karts too! What an awesome track! Very long and curvy. Also, their is a fantastic selection of pinball machines!

Patrick M. O'Connor — Google review

Great place to bring your kids. There are plenty of things to do for a couple hours. We played the Volcano Putt Putt Course and then we took some swings in the batting cages. Batting cage speeds were 35/40/45/50/60/70. They threw pretty consistent. There is also an arcade with tons of games and their prize selection is way better than other arcadesWe will definitely be returning!

Josh Lay — Google review

We drove an hour to get here, and this is the second time we came. We had a blast and the prices were reasonable. The staff was friendly and easy to talk to. My kids loved the go karts and they even had one that a large fellow like me could ride. We will definitely be back.

John Ekhardt — Google review

Very cool place! Go karts were awesome! Very cheap compared to California. We will def be back! And the staff was really nice

Johnny Martinez — Google review

We loved this place!!!! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. We purchased the 5 attractions for $27 which was the best deal. We rode the go Karts 3 times, the bumper boats and played the 18 hole mini golf. We played in the arcade afterwards. This was a great family friendly experience!

Amber Evans — Google review

Took my neice to Kart County for her birthday party/celebration.It was fun for the whole family, we had a good time playing mini golf ⛳, riding go karts and playing all the games they had available.Good selection of games available and plenty of activities for everyone

Cyril Thomas — Google review

Great place to make memories with the family! Fun attractions such as the 1.5 mile long go-kart course, mini golf and an indoor arcade. Would have been 5 stars but some of the arcade games were not working and a few took my credits when trying to get the game to start. It is an older place so expect some wear and tear on some of the machines but I feel it's the owner's responsibility to service their equipment when it comes time to repair them. Overall great place!

Nathaniel Weathers — Google review

Kids had a blast. They did every attraction and played a ton of arcade games. Even the old games. They have a great selection. Even the audios got into it.

Carla Pasley — Google review

Great place to spend a couple hours with the kids. The lines for the tickets can get a little long, but that's expected. There's 2 courses for mini golf and the go kart has a pretty good long track. The go kart even has a system that keeps the line moving instead of waiting for everyone to get back at once.

Joe Forren — Google review

There should be a way to load more money into.your player card that doesn't require you standing in the very long line. Even with two people behind the desk, the line was still super long. We left after we ran out of money on the card because we didn't want to spend 30+ minutes waiting in line.A few of the gocarts didn't run right and had a slight miss or would cut out for a second. The mini golf was cool except for one hole that your ball would get stuck in because there wasn't enough water pressure to push it.

Brandon Cleary (th3cavalry) — Google review

Had absolutely wonderful time! Go karts, bumper boats, mini golf and arcade games it was all fun! The only disappointing thing was the snack bar was closed. Staff said it was only open on the weekends 😕What? It's summer time! Kids are out of school. My kids alone would've bought $20 worth of ice cream and slushies. I get that decision if school is in session but this is such a no brainer for the summer. I would have left 5 stars but i just couldn't.

David Patrick Burns — Google review

Great experience. Versus the indoor competition elsewhere. Would highly suggest bringing in your own safety glasses , there will be debris flying from nature and from off the track. The dirt could be avoided if the track was swept before opening. The safety team on the carts are also on point. They will attend to your needs if the go kart fails while on the track.

Loved this this place! I stopped in here after my visit to Jim Beam distillery and I enjoyed it so much! I did the tasting which included 6 different wines, I loved them all! I’m glad I only tasted those 6 wines, because I probably would have bought even more than I did!I left with 2 cases of wine (they do a discount for 3/6/12+ bottles!)I barely had room in my car while traveling, but I definitely made some space for this precious cargo :)The bottles have some really fun & nice art! I only have a photo of 1 of the many that I purchased, Ridge Runner Red, My dad loved this wine - I wish I had bought more lolDefinitely stop in for a drink or several! You won’t be disappointed!I worked with a fun chick named Amanda, she was knowledgeable and gave some good suggestions of wine to try and she was nice to work with.

Ali B — Google review

I really like this place! The well-mannered staff were not only quite friendly, conversational, and very helpful without being pushy, but the wine prices seemed reasonable given the fine quality of the glasses we were served. The comfortable atmosphere was relaxing and enjoyable.

Allen Murphy — Google review

We have loved Forest Edge for years, and now love them even more. They were SO very gracious when we asked if we could plan a surprise engagement during a girls winery tour we were doing last weekend. Allison the manager was sweet and helpful and the day of it turned out to be a crazy busy day at the winery. We were all very nervous, but Butch was SO very helpful with the people out back setting up the proposal area. The customers that were there were so friendly and helpful. The wine of course was fantastic. The tasting we had - I'm so sorry I didn't get her name, but she was so funny and helpful, and put up with us! The proposal went off perfectly and we had a great place to stay and drink wine (and lots of wine slushies) and talk and laugh. We will definitely be back! If you haven't been - make some time and go enjoy some wine and an awesome staff!

Laura Delaquis — Google review

This is one of my favorite local wineries. Their wine is amazing, there's not one I don't like. From dry to sweet to dessert wines, you really can't go wrong. On hot days their wine slushies are perfect. The staff is so knowledgeable and helpful with explaining their wines and always professional no matter how busy they are. The covered outside area in the back is a great place to hang out with old friends, new friends, and friends you haven't met yet. Highly recommend Forest Edge.

Love this quaint winery! I have visited several times and recently became a member of the wine club. I have enjoyed wine down Sunday's and always look forward to the next month's. The staff, they are excellent with wonderful personalities! Highly recommend a visit to Forest Edge.

Bridgett Lush — Google review

This winery is incredible. The staff are so friendly and helpful and make great recommendations! The wine itself is amazing. The flavors are so rich and delicious; I'm honestly not even a wine person and I loved the wines here. We had such a hard time picking which bottles to take home because they were all so good! We did a wine tasting and I was pretty nervous as I normally dislike wine, but based on the staff recommendations, all 6 wines I tried, I loved. The prices are, in my opinion, low for the high quality wine and experience you're getting. They have such good sales. We actually accidentally dropped the wine bottles off the table and they didn't even break! Total accident but it just speaks volumes of the quality of what you get here. The atmosphere is like visiting a friend's house honestly - it's so welcoming and cozy and the staff really care about you, listen to your tastes, and make such accurate recommendations. This was an "on the whim" stop we'd made and I'm so glad we did. Wine lovers must visit this winery; those who don't like wine, this place may just change your mind!

Amazing atmosphere, great staff, awesome wine. Go ahead and join the wine club, you won't be disappointed

AMAZING!!! My partner and I stopped in on a whim after coming from Jim Beam and asked for a tasting. The woman that hosted us (I’m so upset I don’t remember her name) was SO kind and she walked us through every wine we tasted. They even had goldfish as a palette cleanser :) That made me really happy. I’m so glad we stopped in

Rachel Burns — Google review

Stopped here on our way to the Nashville Food and Wine Festival. In addition to their great selection of wines, there is also great atmosphere, decor, and service. Located just off the tasting room is a great gathering space with a TV, small bar, and stacked wine barrels along the walls. Our only regret is that they're not located in central Indiana, so we could visit more!Update September 2023 - stopped by again during a day trip to the Jim Beam distillery. Same great experience and friendly, knowledgeable staff. A must visit if you're in the area!

Love Forest Edge Winery! The staff is always pleasant, welcoming and knowledgeable. I’m more of a red wine drinker, but have tried the majority of the whites as well. All the wines are very tasty. Watch their calendar for live music on Sundays and weekends. So much fun with my friends every time at the winery!!!

Donna Gaines — Google review

Forest Edge is our go-to winery in the Louisville area, and even though I now live across the river in Indiana, I still make the 45 minute drive to go there. All of the people who work at Forest Edge are kind and welcoming, and it’s a great place to take friends. Excellent selection of both sweet and dry wines, and many are oak aged (for you bourbon drinkers)!Definitely check them out if you’re doing distillery tours since they are right down the street in Clermont. Maybe try the Forest Fire or the Java Vino while you’re there - both very unique and a must try!Thank you Allison and team for always making our visits an enjoyable experience!!!

Wine tasting was so good we left with 6 bottles. They offer Military Discount on purchases. The place is clean and so cute inside. We enjoyed walking around and looking at the wine decor. So cute! You get 6 tastings for $5 and the service was excellent!

Rachael Gaylord Cargill — Google review

I love this place. It is very cozy and I like the events that the have not only for the public but for their wine members. I also like that they are growing and now have beer on tap! They have nice areas where you can meet friends and they have the cutest cat that always catches my eye!

This winery has a wide variety of wines to choose from and offers tastings for $5. It is located in Bullitt County, only 30 minutes south of Louisville, and has a nice seating area.

They have a great selection of wines. Love their wine club. The owners and staff provide awesome service with a happy, laid back atmosphere. It's always a pleasure to visit this establishment. A visit here is a must.

Theresa Dunn — Google review

I visited 4 years ago while at Fort Knox. The quality of the wines has remained top notch, my wife and our friends had a blast and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the wine, the day and the atmosphere. Chuck was a huge hit with our group.

Martin Mulnix — Google review

The owners were amazing. Couldn't get an uber to pick us up however they allowed us to stay wayyyy after closing time. They were sooo kind and understanding. The winery is a total 10 out of 10. The dog Charlie is the best loved him being there. Jim and Sandy are awesome!!! The wines are great hard to find good non sweet reds and they have em!!! Definitely a good selection.

Jena B — Google review

Great winery with a vast variety of options from dry to dessert wine.Has a nice seating area and offers tasting as well.A must try.

Best winery I've been to in Kentucky. We came up from Arkansas for a family visit. Excellent customer service, friendly atmosphere and Charlie the winery dog made it even better !!! Definitely will be back on our next visit to Kentucky.

Amber Fike — Google review

Sandra, one of the owners, was extremely kind and pleasant to talk to. Their wine selections are amazing! The entire process for the Winter Solstice is amazing and the taste is amazing as well. The Wight Meyer property is also beautiful and tucked away in the country.

Tried a tasting, $7.00, consist of 6 tastes your choice. The cheese tray was good but a little on the skimpy side for 8.00.Overall great wine, fair price and pretty scenery.

Dee Bennett — Google review

The wines weren't great. I'm pretty sure one had oxidized in my flight. Petting Charlie The dog was probably the best part of the experience.

Not a place we will be going to again as soon as we walked in the man behind the counter asked who was driving and I told him me and he wouldnt give me a drop of wine only water. Never tried to ID me or anything... garbage.... Not the spot to be

Denver Reid — Google review

The owners are wonderful I love them and they have a beautiful friendly dog named Charlie

renee smith — Google review

Beautiful place. Charlie the winery dog is the best! Also, delicious wine. 😉

Wayne “The g33k” Bonnett — Google review

We researched wineries that are supposedly dog friendly. Every other winery that we’ve stopped at that was posted as dog friendly either happily allowed a dog inside on a leash or directed us to an outside area where we could participate in a wine tasting. This winery, when asked, did not offer us the option of having our dog on their very large patio or allow him inside. When asked why we were told the woman who was attending to the bar has a dog that isn’t friendly to others. 🤷‍♀️. We left.

Nature & Parks

The Parklands of Floyds Fork is a large park system that spans along the Floyds Fork river in eastern Louisville. The Parklands offers beautiful views and relaxation, as well as facilities such as a playground, canoeing and hiking trails.

Paved roads and dirt/gravel trails that have great views. Clean restrooms. Plenty of places to stop and take a moment.

This is a great place to take your kiddos, my girls loved the water spouts. A must go to recreational park.

We got married at the Gheens Foundation Lodge, and it was amazing. Toni and her team were pleasant and helpful, and the venue was so beautiful. We had plenty of space, their vendor team is strong, and they did a wonderful job of setting the space up perfectly for us. We couldn’t imagine getting married anywhere else, and we would do it again in a heartbeat!

Sinclair Guenther — Google review

Quiet, peaceful place surrounded by nature. Loved taking my walk there.

The Parklands of Floyd's Fork is a treasure to have on the outskirts of Jefferson County. We have visited each of the five parks that make up the The Parklands. It's a beautiful park just a few minutes drive from much of Jefferson County. Hiking, kayaking, nature watching, water parks, water fountains, PNC Education Center, & so much more. They have numerous field trip opportunities for our local schools, going above & beyond to ensure all children can experience a unique park system. It'll be well worth a visit to their website to check out everything The Parklands offer. The park rangers, staff educators, & maintenance staff are awesome. Plan a visit as soon as possible, you'll love it.

Robert Gaskins — Google review

I call it pesticide park. Smells 2-3 days a week and they don’t mind spraying next to the kiddos soccer practice. Disgusted at the park management decisions. Quit polluting Floyd’s fork with toxic chemicals.

Matt Thompson — Google review

Love the park...but had an issue with Ranger buddy tonight. The first time he passed us at an inappropriate speed in his truck was on the trail between the soccer field lot and the snack stand. Yes i had a 9year old on a bike that i had to get into the grass because a ford ranger doesn't belong on those trails especially not at his rate of speed. The second time he passed was on the small road between the parking lots with him going about double the speed limit. So when I saw him chatting it up in the parking lot I walked up and as politely as I had available told him "work here or not you need to chill out with your speed" and instead of any regrets or apologies he ran his mouth. Apparently he was the first responder to someone who left a bookbag at a bathroom. He fancies himself police/fire (his words) gave me his name and told me to call who ever I would like.I hope you have great insurance for when this guy takes out a kid. I take mine to the parklands to avoid the idiots in trucks...

Jonathan Minucci — Google review

Would like to give a big SHOUT OUT to the Parkland folks who worked hard to put on a fun and educational EARTH DAY event. The combination of food vendors, a beer vendor, a tree give-away, live music at the Pavilion, music throughout the Moss Gibbs Woodland area with violin, dulcimer and flute, trivia game and multiple other vendors, made for a Special Event. Thank you

Beth Tomlinson — Google review

What a beautiful park! There are great open spaces, access to trails and natural areas, and a dog park. There are parking lots spaced throughout, making it convenient to get in and get to relaxing quickly. There is a HUGE open lawn with a trail around it. It's perfect for just about anything from laying out, playing catch, flying kites, having a picnic, and so much more. There's sooooooo much room.If you like having wife open spaces and access to some other park amenities, the Parklands is perfect.

J.T. Crawford — Google review

While Beckley Creek and Pope Lick Parks are beautiful, Turkey Run Park and especially Broad Run arem more of what many of us go to a park for. Peace and tranquility. They all have great hiking and biking trails but those two are the best. BC and BR both have spraygrounds and playgrounds so that is sure to please the little visitors. They all open at sunrise and close at sundown. The Parklands website is a fountain of info on what they have to offer. As well as the few rules they have.

Murrell Kinkade — Google review

“The Parklands” is a 4,000-acre park system made up of four individual parks and a connector park along the Floyds Fork Tributary. With 100 miles of hike-bike trails, there was no shortage of nature and hiking options.“The Parklands” in the Louisville area indirectly owes its existence to who is considered the father of landscape architecture in the United States. Early in the 1800s Frederick Law Olmsted, the first U.S. landscape architect, developed a series of parks around the city of Louisville, KY. It is these 200-year-old legacy parks that are the basis and inspiration for the development of “The Parklands.”Berkley Creek Park, one of the four parks in “The Parklands,” is not just a place for hiking and biking. When visiting this green space, you might also see people lounging on blankets while watching others pass frisbees or kick a soccer ball. With a large playground, a pavilion and walking paths, there literally is something for everyone at this area of the park known as “Egg Lawn”. Even though this is a newly developed green space, it is a rather popular place for the public on the weekends. As the trees and fields mature, I can only imagine what this open space place will look like in the future. “The Parkands” impact on the Louisville area is just getting started. Today, the young trees and flowers dot the open fields. Who knows how different the fields pictured above will look in 20-30 years. If you happen to be in the area and enjoy nature, make sure you stop by.

CJ — Google review

This park has a great bicycle and mountain bike trail system. Also good for just about anything else recreational Outdoors. Floyds Fork is a beautiful Creek that can be paddled in the spring and after heavy rains in the summer. This park is an absolute gem in Louisville Kentucky. I truly would like to thank city of Louisville for putting these 5 parks together.

Overland Generation — Google review

Can’t go through Kentucky without doing a bourbon tasting! This place was small but put together well. Got to taste, tour the distilling and bottling areas. Host was very knowledgeable and was willing to answer most of your questions. If you want intimate bourbon experience, this is the way to go.

Cora Tadeo — Google review

One of the best tasting experiences on the bourbon trail. Our guide loved bourbon and loved telling the story of their product.I know Jefferson’s isn’t for everyone, but they love their craft here.

Todd — Google review

What a fantastic little jewel in the crown of the bourbon trail this place is. It’s a small facility packed with love and great people. Oh and the bourbon is delicious too. Patty was our tour guide and was by far the best guide we have ever had the pleasure to experience. She is knowledgeable, fun, and full of energy. What an invigorating breath of fresh air she is. I’m SO happy we took this tour! They offer discounts for first responders and veterans, but even at full price, the $12 cost of admission is well worth it. Our designated driver was able to tour at no cost. Thank you KAD for an experience that was outstanding!

Denise Houck — Google review

Really enjoyed this tour and tasting. There were just 4 of us and our guide, Laura. She made the history really live and was great with our silly questions. This was the first tour where we thoroughly enjoyed everything we tasted. Hadn’t tried Jeffersons before and it was delicious. Even the lowest tier was smooth and nuanced. Would highly recommend this tour and tasting.

Kailie Cummins — Google review

Over the years my wife and I have done a number of tours including some famous ones in Ireland, but we actually found this one to be the most interesting one we have ever been on. Wes was our tour guide and he provided a great deal of interesting information in a very understanding and enjoyable way. The time just flew by. We got to see some interesting stages of distilling that we had not really been able to experience. The tasting was extremely well done.

robert dempsey — Google review

Went and did a tour and tasting today. Tour was good, host was knowledgeable. Bourbon was good and we liked the variety.

Brandon Oxton — Google review

Great experience. Much different feel than some of the larger experiences in the area, and it is the first contract distillery I’ve visited. Everyone was so friendly from the time you walked in to walking through the distillery and chatting with the people working. Dee was informative, and you could tell she was passionate about their story. It almost felt as they were welcoming you into their home. Great selection of bourbons at the end of the tour.

T. J. Hart — Google review

This was a really cool place. We had visited several of the larger distilleries so this one felt quite homey and personable. We spent the most amount of money buying from here. We can’t find some of there selection near us and some is only sold in Kentucky. It’s really cool to hear how they collaborate with small distilleries in the area. Oh and they have a shark you can track named Jefferson!!!

Carmen Lanie — Google review

We started day 2 of our bourbon trail tours with Patti. It has been the best tour of our weekend! She was hilarious, informative, and made this such a fun morning. Definitely the best tour we’ve been on.

Had a great experience tasting thé bourbon at this distillery. Beautiful, well organized and the host is very good at explaining. My favorite bourbon from this distillery is the Ocean, the one aged at sea.Highly recommended for a nice tasting experience.

Alda Shabanaj — Google review

Tour was short and sweet, but gave a lot of info! We were in and out in a hour. Tom was our tour guide and he was great! There was a bourbon tasting at the end. Though I didn’t partake, I heard the bourbon was good and strong. The tour price is cheaper than other distilleries because it’s not in the heart of downtown.

Erin S. — Google review

We went on the tour with a group of friends and a tasting. The tour was very informative about the origins of the company, I just wish it was a little more informative about the making of the products. The bourbon tasting was pretty cool and interesting. We had a nice time.

Do not shut down the History of this place its amazing. The free bugs is a nice touch. The Bourbon Liquor was so good. Old Bardstown Village & Civil War Museum offers a unique opportunity to explore American history through its three distinct attractions: an American Civil War museum, a women's museum, and ten colonial era log cabins. The Civil War museum boasts an impressive collection of Union and Confederate artifacts and references, making it a must-visit destination for any history enthusiast. In addition to the indoor exhibits, visitors can also view the HL Hunley Confederate Sub on display.

10/5/21. If you like history this is a great stop. Displays are well thought out and there are a lot of items to read. Most amazing is they have the HL Hunley Confederate Sub on display.Really a must stop

I loved all of the museums and village at this location. The Civil War museum had both Union and Confederate artifacts and references. That is incredibly important for a Civil War museum. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of these museums!

Jarod Toomey — Google review

Nice museum. Displays are well done and they have some very historic artifacts.

Mark Ralston — Google review

What a great place, so much history! Alot of great displays with plenty of artifacts. Then you can go outside to the little village, real cabins that you can go into and check out some more history. They also have two more museums up the street but we were running out of time and were unable to check them out. But your ticket is good for 2 days, we will definitely go back to check out the rest.

Old Bardstown Village,A collection of ten original 18th and 19th Century log structures that form a Colonial period settlement along Bardstown’s Museum Row.The property has nice paved walkway to each cabin. The cabins have period displaysBlack smithing and historical artifacts insideA natural waterway runs through the village it powers the water wheel at the mill house .The path has several bridge crossings and a hidden covered bridge. It’s a relaxing adventure into the past history of Kentucky

Rhonda Huff — Google review

For what it is, it's awesome. The museum is smaller than a typical museum but the biggest confederate museum I've ever seen. The tiny town out back is something special for sure.

Brendon Burke — Google review

Amazing original buildings are well worth a visit. The museum caretaker Kenny was very helpful and knowledgeable. One tavern is as early as the 1790s. The log cabin seminary, the first established west of the Alleghany mtns, is moving due to it's simplicity.

Stephen Slater — Google review

This was so much fun! THe kids loved it as well. Being outside and able to roam around and discover what is inside the cabins. Old trades were shown and some history about local native americans. Nice short walk, it has a ramp if you cannot do stairs!

Annelize van der Grient — Google review

Civil War Museum was very nice. It's a self-guided tour with most antiques nicely displayed in large glass cases, many tall enough for a human. The day we were there, a living history reenactor was there to show and tell many items of the period. He was very knowledgeable and related well with people. The Pioneer Village has some interesting cabins with a paved path. The day we were there, reenactors were supposed to be there until 5 pm. However, we went at 3 pm and the Village was empty with a few cabins open, disappointing.Interest in frontier life is better served at Old Fort Harrod or Fort Boonsboro.

The Willett Distillery is a rustic outpost where visitors can experience distillery tours, sample Willet bourbon and other spirits, and purchase gifts. The tour provides informative insights into the distilling process with ample opportunities to try different bourbons. The tasting room also has delicious appetizers available for purchase. A highlight of the experience are the single barrel "Purple top" bourbons which are unique and high quality. The facility has a welcoming atmosphere with touches of family history adding authenticity to the experience.

Our tour guide was hilarious, but also very knowledgeable. We got to see the fancy pot still and everything. I enjoyed how the tasting wasn't all at the beginning or all at the end. This tour was much more enjoyable than I expected. You do needs reservations for upstairs though. We tried going up and it was full.

Matt Siegman — Google review

It’s our second time visiting Willett, and we enjoyed both visits. Last time was during Covid, and The Bar was not open. This time we had lunch at The Bar, and it was a nice experience. Remember to make reservations in advance, or you probably won’t get seated since it very busy, a popular place. Both the food and co*cktails were delicious. We did the whiskey tasting last time, and it was great, and that’s how we discovered Johnny Drum, a great choice for making Old Fashioned. Don’t miss the souvenir store. By the way, there is an adorable cat on the property. We saw it each time we visited.

Y K — Google review

What a beautiful distillery! Steeped in southern heritage and charm, the ambiance is relaxing, warm and welcoming. The staff were all so kind and helpful! Our tour guide, Ila, was knowledgeable and funny. She really seems to enjoy sharing her knowledge of Willett and the family history behind the bourbon. The tastings along the tour were wonderful! This was mine and my husband’s first distillery tour for our wedding anniversary and Willett definitely set the bar high for us. We will be back to visit again!

Lauren Ey — Google review

Our visit to Willett Distillery was nothing short of exceptional, thanks to their incredible hospitality and attention to detail. We were grateful for the last-minute group accommodation they made for our team, ensuring that our visit was seamless and enjoyable. The old-fashioned co*cktail we enjoyed at Willett Distillery was perfect in every way, perfectly crafted and served with precision. The unique technique of cooling the glasses with dry ice added an extra element of sophistication to the experience, making it truly memorable. Not only were the drinks superb, but the small plates and appetizers served were delicious and brought out quickly, allowing us to enjoy a variety of flavors that complemented our co*cktails perfectly.I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Willett Distillery for their exceptional service and for making our visit truly special. We look forward to returning and continuing to explore the world of fine spirits with them. Cheers to an unforgettable experience!

Go, simply go. It's the best distillery tour and tasting I've been to. The tour is informative and it has bourbon throughout. The bar has great food as well, it's appetizer style, but delicious. Last and most importantly, the single barrel "Purple top" bourbons in the bar. They are unlike anything I tasted in the rest of distilleries They are expensive, but it's the quality and flavor that the entire rest of the industry should be pouring on their tours. It's not even close, Willet wins by a mile.

Mike Heyse — Google review

The staff was amazingly kind and friendly. They took time to talk about the distillery, the bourbon, and even their own experiences. The grounds are beautiful. And I can imagine a better day to enjoy it. What was going to be a quick stop, lasted for a couple hours as we took it all in.

Christopher Kubala — Google review

One of our stops along the bourbon trail. We didn’t do a tour but stopped for a flight. The grounds are beautiful, and welcoming and the people are friendly. While many of their offerings aren’t favorites of mine many seem to really enjoy them, just a different palette than mine. Absolutely worth the stop for a pour.

Erik L (Fish Guru) — Google review

Great tour! The tastings are spread throughout the tour rather than being stacked together at the end. Mason, our guide, was knowledgable, bright and cheerful. Even after the tour he visited individually with his members as they browsed the gift shop.Knowledgeable host, beautiful distillery, excellent bourbons and now I know why!

RT Kirk — Google review

The Willette tour is among the best ever by today's standards (very much like the old days at Wild Turkey, Barton 1792, etc where you really toured the place!) and our guide, Bianca, was outstanding. They started the tour with a tasting and had several more along the way with two different offerings at each place, and again at the end.Cheers!

Phil Baughn — Google review

Enjoyed meeting the cats on the tour. It seems like they are working to make the space even nicer. Good products. We loved the nope signs. We enjoyed the family history touches and authenticity.

Nicole Cronauer — Google review

We didn't get to take the tour, but stopped in for the restaurant and gift shop. Beautiful grounds. Super friendly serving staff. The food (small plates and dessert) was tremendous. Great co*cktails. Can't wait to take a tour next time we are nearby.

Daniel O'Donnell — Google review

Beautiful distillery. Our tour guide Shannon, was outstanding. She was pleasant and knowledgeable. The food in the restaurant was excellent albeit slightly overpriced for the portions. Now for the bad. I really wanted to love this distillery. Unfortunately, the experience was ruined at the outset by an extremely rude and unprofessional front desk worker that actually told me the person she was speaking to on the phone was “more important” than me after I waited patiently for her to get off the phone and check me in for the tour. The whiskey is way overpriced and average at best. Charging upwards of $90 per oz at the distillery to taste their special releases is ridiculous. I felt like I was at a bar on whiskey row rather than a famed distillery. Best word to describe the vibe here is pretentious. For a place to call itself a “Family” Estate, it is lacking the hospitality and friendliness of such an establishment. Really disappointed by this experience.

Colby C — Google review

We highly recommend Willett as a tour destination. You can sample products at several stops during the tour. My wife and I were able to sample more different products than any other tour that we have taken. The grounds are beautiful and you can feel the passion that the staff has for their Bourbons, and Whiskeys.

Love the history, enjoy the product, friendly and knowledgeable staff and guide, love being able to get up close to the workings of the distillery and seeing workers actually present and working, and having our picture made with the working Pot Still. The cats are a treat as.well. Loved how they knew the routines and basically made themselves at home throughout the whole tour. Will definitely recommend Willet Distillery for anyone planning a Bourbon Trail experience.

Streetmachinehead — Google review

What an experience!! You actually have tastings included in the tour as you experience the different facilities. Nick our tour guide was very knowledgeable and provided the best experience in Bardstown. Highly recommended to be on your Distillery visit in KY.

gregory reinhardt — Google review

Of all the distilleries we did, this was our favorite. The grounds are gorgeous, their story fantastic, and the drinks great. We LOVED that the tasting was spread out at various locations on the tour. You get to see it ALL and the value is outstanding. We will come back and tour this again for sure. This is 100% worth your time.

Brett Bultemeier — Google review

It was one of the better tours we have done. Our guide Nick was very good and extremely knowledgeable. Really enjoyed the tasting as you go aspect.

Deb Hoste — Google review

My husband and I never visited a distillery before but this place was recommended by a friend. Our tour guide, Ila, was very personable and informative. The food at the restaurant was very good as well but make sure you make reservations if you want a table. We had a great experience. If you're looking for something different to do with your partner, we highly recommend this place!

M M — Google review

Our tour guide Bianca was amazing! She was very informative, gave great history about the family and how Willet was started and how it still operates. She was friendly and loved her sense of humor. Tastings along the way were a hit with us, that is so different from the other tours we did. At the end Bianca asked if there was an anniversary which was ours and showed us lots of love and everyone got to try a high end purple top which was the absolute best! Later we had drinks and food upstairs which was by far the best we had anywhere! I would highly recommend the Willet tour!

Nikki Dodd — Google review

We toured 5 distilleries — this was my favorite. Tastings spread out throughout the tour instead of all at once, smaller distillery with a commitment to quality and a family feel, a great bar, and great bourbon. Everyone is super friendly. Also, distillery cats are a plus!

Paul Harris — Google review

We had SO much fun at this tour! We have visited a few places along the bourbon trail and this was by far our favorite. For the basic tour, we still got to try countless bourbons that this distillery makes, and were sent home with a nice glass from our tasting. Mason, our tour guide, was absolutely phenomenal. I will be bringing other family members back with me soon. PS: the "nope" signs are legendary, and also extremely helpful.

Cheyenne Abbott — Google review

Favorite stop on the Bourbon Trail, and one of my favorite bourbons for sure. Shannon welcomed us at the door and then gave us one heck of a progressive tasting & tour of this little gem of a distillery. I can’t say enough great things about the vibes, the facilities, and the product of this family owned and operated place. Keep up the good work, Willett! I’m a loyal fan.

The Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass is a contemporary open-air outlet mall located just a short drive from Louisville, Kentucky. It features a wide range of popular brand-name and designer shops, as well as casual eateries. Visitors can explore stores like RH Outlet, Coach, Kate Spade, Nike, and Polo Ralph Lauren. While some shoppers have found great deals here, others feel that not all stores offer significant discounts. The friendly and helpful staff make the shopping experience enjoyable for many visitors.

Very neat clean open air facility with many authentic name brand legitimate outlet priced stores. Most of these stores are ver easily accessible from the main walkways with multiple very helpful directory boards stationed around. There are multiple layers of security for your safety. The restrooms are very well kept.

We went for a leisure window shopping. All high end mem womens clothing brand an also accessories. A small food court. Children play area. Two main lanes are decoratively covered on top.

Thanksgiving Black Friday!!!!We arrived at 7 o'clock in the morning, the parking lot was full. A lot of people came out to shop this year. It was very cold that day. Although there were many people, it was a happy day ! Thank you everyone who works that day.

The Outlet Shoppes offer a pleasant experience in an easily walkable layout. With most of the premium outlet brands represented, it is easy to pick up wardrobe updates at discount prices in one easy stop. Frequent sales offer the opportunity for upgraded products while saving dollars. The Shoppes offer a peaceful and safe shopping environment with lots of adequate parking easily accessible.

Absolutely loved this place. They had a great selection of stores and good sales going on. Will definitely return for another trip !!!

April Boren — Google review

I feel outlet malls need to have better prices without waiting for special sale days, etc. We only bought from 2 stores. Vera Bradley and Eddie Bauer. They had some sales going. At EB, you have to be careful as there are sale signs all over, yet it might only be the shirts or lower rack on sale, etc. They have somethings on clearance marked at 70% off. Same with VB. I wish pricing was clearer.

Sallie F — Google review

I made a special trip here for my first time since it is well over 3 hrs drive for me. I went for 3 shops only. The first one was for shoes. The outlet was tiny and didn’t have my size. The second was closed with no explanation posted on the door. The third was the dog treat store. It was open and I bought treats and that’s why I am giving 2 stars rather than one. This is place has the smallest selections of stores of any outlet center I’ve ever been to. I won’t be back without more stores moving in.

G J — Google review

Really liked it. Clean and well maintained. My favorite place was Ghirardelli chocolate 🍫. They have some good prices. It's just right off the interstate. Easy in and out parking 🅿.

Grill Man — Google review

Went with the family to do a little early holiday shopping but there was nothing early about it! The holidays are already in full swing and it's so great to be outside in nature; it feels like an element that indoor malls lacked. Special shout out to the staff at Loft because I accidentally left a shopping bag there and they went out of their way to get it back for me!

Meredith Macleod — Google review

Visiting from NC and stopped to kill time before we could check in our hotel. We were so surprised by how awesome these shops were. We got back to school clothes, trip souvenirs, and even did some early Christmas shopping since we found such great deals. I gave the Coach store its own review as the staff were amazing. It was GREAT!!!

Shellie Figueroa (Mama Figgy) — Google review

We love the Simpsonville outlet malls. We enjoyed eating lunch at Jade Garden while we were here. We ordered the spicy bourbon chicken and it did not disappoint. The food was fresh and delicious!

Stephen Pinkston — Google review

We always go when there are great deals to check out. They have nice christmas decorations set up for December.

K Alexandria — Google review

A good variety of shops and prices/deals tend to be decent. Facilities are always clean and kept looking nice. Plenty of parking except on black Friday as is the case everywhere. The food court is OK. It's a little expensive for what it is, but there are plenty of other restaurants and gas stations directly next to it if you want other things. There's also other little snack-type places within the outlet mall. It's also dog friendly and has a dog station by Old Navy. Some stores require a carrier and at minimum a leash. Plenty of rides and game options for kids too. They decorate seasonally and have plenty of seating. There's also a fire pit area to warm up. Not an open fire. There's a wishing fountain for which proceeds go to the KY Humane Society. Be mindful that to get from store to store you will be outside so go on a day with good weather or come prepared.

Morgan Frazier — Google review

Great variety of outlet stores with great deals!!

Charles Dickerson — Google review

I really like the outlet mall. It always gives you this sense of 'it is okay to buy' (or it might be just me). The areas are always clean, there is a good variety of stores; always have good sales going on. They decorate so pretty for each holiday/activities/special day. The bathrooms were cleaned the last time I visit and the waiting area inside of the woman's bathroom is very comfortable. I will like to see new stores thought and for some reason the times that I have been inside the food court it is always empty even if there are a lot of shoppers around.

Yamel Patterson-Muñoz — Google review

Some stores are good. Some stores are bad. Some stores aren't even needed in an outlet mall. Shop here or don't.I am glad we have an outlet mall close. Now we don't have to go to Indy or Georgia for outlet shopping. The only thing I'd suggest about going here... Go with an attitude that you're not buying anything. Sometimes you'll luck upon a few good deals but a large majority of the stores say they're having deals but you'll look around and realize... They don't have any deals.

Brad Gray — Google review

Lots of places to shop for some good deals on great products. Check out the directory list for brand name stores. Has a nice food court too!

I always walk the entire mall. But, I generally only buy clothing at Eddie Bauer, North Face and Columbia. They happen to be very close to each other. Sometimes there are good deals. Also the chocolate shop across from Columbia is a refreshing place.Plenty of parking. Most stores have covered entrances. Easy to get to just off of I-64.

Jim Overturf — Google review

My husband surprised me with this trip. The shops which were many, the employees were friendly and helpful. The prices are great. If you are looking for a place to shop and pretty likely find something for someone in your life or you need a shopping day for yourself. This place is where to go.The only thing I would improve on is the food court. The selections of food wasn't good, place was so small, no seats for the amount of food traffic they get everyday.

Nicky S — Google review

Lots of shops, plenty of parking, and a small food court. Plenty of spots to take photos with the family as well!

Idael Juarez — Google review

Concrete Kingdom!!! We love the different yard items we find in this store. The one at the outlets has more of a selection. My mom wanted another yard wind mill and they did not disappoint. We ended up buying the 🦉 one for our yard. Our neighbors love to stop and watch the display. I can watch them all day. I’m sure we’ll be back again.

One of the single best campgrounds we’ve been to in America. Large sites with water and electric, easy to park and get set down. The playground was nice and the restrooms were clean and well built. Will absolutely come again.Awesome side note: this place is almost equidistant to all the major distilleries on the bourbon trail!

Rich Morrow — Google review

This place is gorgeous! It's about an hour drive from our home in South Lexington. We had a campout there with a troop of one of my Children's. The primitive camping area is clean and very well maintained. Nice s'more area around the campfire! We did not encounter any Critters but we keep a really clean camp area. Shower houses were not spotless but very nice and well maintained in terms of mechanics. Laundry room was clean and well maintained. Fishing off of the boat dock was really nice and convenient.

Cassie — Google review

Nice State Park. Lots of kids parks, boating, fishing, hiking trails, horse back riding trails. We camped here for four nights. Sites had water and electric. They were large and well maintained

Timothy Reed — Google review

Overall this is a nice campground for primitive camping. The majority of the sites are spaced out and private but unfortunately I couldn't find any pictures online of the sites so the one we got was not private. We stayed at site #4 and it is best suited for a group of friends because your neighbors are 10-15 yards away with no trees or anything in between. The biggest issue with site #4 is there is no picnic table. Luckily we were only staying one night so not a big deal but there was no mention of it on the booking website (Reserve America).Aside from that, it is well kept and the bath house was pretty immaculate for such a full weekend. Several playgrounds nearby if you have kids to occupy. The main overall issue is the lack of staffing. I'm not sure if it's the usual or if there is a lack of staff in general but we got in shortly after 7PM and there was no ranger or staff to be found to get firewood. No honor system or anything so we had to venture out to find some after we got our tent up because the main office was closed as well. As a heads up, the Dollar General does not sell wood nor does the new Lakecity Mart gas station. We found a large white house/business of some sort that had an honor system and it was $10 for a massive bundle of wood. Oh and when we left on Sunday, as of about noon, there still wasn't any staff anywhere in the park that we saw. Not sure what was up with that. Some of the hiking trails were well marked and up kept but some others were not so if you aren't good with navigation, choose wisely. Biggest issue we had was with the Gazebo Loop Trail/Pioneer Trail. Several spots were overgrown and not marked so you had to guess a little bit until you ran back into a well worn trail.Didn't do any lake activities but the water looked nice and there was a lot of activity on it. Nice boat ramps as well.Overall a nice stay but choose your site wisely. I took several pictures of each site to help others in the future. I didn't get site 7 or 10 because they were occupied but they are pretty nice as well but 10 is slightly open and not as secluded.

Justin Sowards — Google review

Sites spaced a good distance from each other. Very clean. Bathhouse in good order. Campground great for walking with a couple of trail points accessible.

J. Matthew Brock — Google review

Overall we had the best week of camping and it was our best experience at any Kentucky State Park campground so far. We loved being able to rent boats at the marina and everyone was so friendly!Only complaint is that the bathrooms at the campground need more attention. The womens was out of toilet paper for almost 2 days. And the trash was only emptied once the entire week we were there.

Amy Brummett — Google review

Taylorsville lake has a lot to offer everyone in the family. Fishing, hiking trails near and around the lake, horse park and trails, easy boat ramps and very clean bathrooms. The town of Taylorsville is clean, historic, and everyone is friendly. Weekend yard sales, farmers markets, and everything is close to the campground.

Ronnie Brown — Google review

Campgrounds are cozy! We went to camp and hike as locals. Just to get away from it all for a day. The hikes are good but be warned that they seem... barely maintained in lot of spots: worn signs, lack of signs, entire portions of trail basically gone, and worst of all is the official maps provided (at least on the website) are horrendously lacking in terms of landmark and precision. We almost got lost. Almost. It only took us 4 miles to do a 2.7 mile hike! But other than the hiking trails being inaccurate according to the map we enjoyed ourselves.

Joseph “Evan” Fields — Google review

Loved the camp sites. Clean restrooms and showers. The RV pads are not completely level so we have to heighten one side. The campsites are not near the water, and the lake water seems low. We did not see any place to swim, just fish. We do not have horses but there are trails and stables to ride your horses. We did not see any place to rent them though.

Lynne Wolfe — Google review

Beautiful clean park. The hiking trails were not maintained and hard to follow in some spots but they showcased the beautiful natural area around the lake. It was very peaceful and serene. The restrooms were closed for the season. The only play ground for children was in the campground.

Ashlee Overton — Google review

This is a great little campground and is close enough to home that during our inaugural trip with our new camper, we were able to make a run back home to grab a few needed supplies. It was super clean and staff was friendly. We'll surely be back.

Timothy Abney — Google review

If your looking for a campground for a weekend getaway and you live in or near Louisville. This park is a good choice. They have two nice play areas for the younger campers and two shower houses. The staff is always friendly. The RV - Trailer lots are spacious and mostly shady. The primitive / tent camping is very nice and offers some secluded lots if you want to rough it.

We visited during the off season so could only walk around outside. All of the buildings were closed until March. But grounds were neat and well kept. Information displays could use some updating and refurbishing.

The homestead is very interesting. The cabins are full of artifacts from the era with descriptions of what they are. The memorial to Nancy Hanks is touching and there is information on a reenactment of the Lincoln Hanks wedding they held back in 1935.

If you are looking for a slower paced, classic country farm, almost forgotten lifestyle, please come to this slice of heaven winery. Best deal for tasting within and hour radius (no limitation). The charming Smith-Berry team made us feel like family (farm dog and cats included). We even had a kind wave from the resident farmer in overalls. Recommendation for middle of the road wine lovers (Semi/Sweet) Half and Half, Sweet Stevie, Stevie Rose’, and Vignoles.

Alexandria Glenn — Google review

My wife and I love Smith Berry. We've yet to try a wine of theirs that we didn't enjoy and we love the concerts during the summer. The food at the concerts are a great way to try local restaurants and it's such a pleasant way to spend an evening. Also, there's a really cool dog that walks around and greets the concert goers.

Richie Feynman — Google review

I LOVED my experience at smith berry winery for my 22nd birthday. I paid for the 8$ wine tasting & ordered mainly sweet & sparkling wines - they were incredible. I tasted smith berry for the first time about a year ago at the lake, I tried the sweet blackberry flavor.. WOW 🤩 it was best wine I have ever had, very rich, colorful, and flavorful.🍷 🍇 we also got the garlic cheese & crackers which were amazing paired with the wines as well.

JozARTSY — Google review

Smith-Berry was a nice stop off the beaten path on our way back from Kentucky Speedway. The location was nice and peaceful. The grounds were nice and the seating outside was ample for a few groups to sit in quiet and enjoy the tastings. The tastings were good. We purchased 6 bottles of wine from them. They were having a concert Saturday evening, we couldn't stay however if we did we would have for sure enjoyed it. The dog Burley was absolute our favorite. He was very sweet and friendly. He allowed us to pet on him. They had a nice pergola with seating next to a nice fountain. When my Bride is happy I am happy.

DS CLARKE — Google review

It was ok, great place to spend some time relaxing.

Vivian Ruiz — Google review

I’m not sure where the good ratings are coming from. There were 3 other groups of people there, one was a young group so I believe they enjoyed their fruity wines…which is good because all they had available were either/or fruit or sweet wines. We tried a Cabernet Sauvignon which could have passed for a sweet wine. It tasted like syrup. We went last weekend, on a Saturday, and the girl behind the counter could have been the least bit interested in helping us. She pointed us in the direction of the end of the counter with her finger and told us to look at the white sheet since that’s all available. Food was your basic bag of chips, or a chunk of cheese. Even the poor cats there seemed ignored since they were begging for attention so came and sat at our table the whole time.

Lori P — Google review

A fantastic place for an afternoon wine tasting. Lots of variety. We especially liked the blackberry and strawberry wines. And the furry friends were a great added feature. Highly recommend.

Allison Mundy — Google review

Loved the quaint experience sitting outside under the shady pergola. Favorite wines were the sweet and semi-sweet varieties. Friendly staff and an overall pleasant experience. We will be back for future visits/events.

Gallrein Farms is awesome. It's a working farm that does events throughout the year. During the fall they have the pumpkin patch, which is pretty large. They have lots of things for kids to do like pet the horses, feed sheep, goats and cows. There are sack slides, a corn maze, corn pit, kiddie train, haystack mountain, several food areas, a store and all kinds of other entertainment. They amazing apple cider doughnuts. My family go at least twice a year.

Kenneth Rimmer — Google review

Our family loves Gallrein Farms! This is our third year to visit and every year it gets better. The hay ride to the pumpkin patch and the train ride around the property are two favorites. And the petting zoo was very special to the grandkids! Bring cash for petting zoo snacks and some food vendors. There are food vendors (still need more on weekends and they need to take cards) A WONDERFUL a store full of delicious treats including fresh apples and the DON’T MISS DOUGHNUTS & Apple Cider! There’s also fun souvenirs and decor on sale. CLEAN restrooms!❤️ Lots of picnic tables for eating. There’s also a giant slide, a bouncy area, a corn maze and much more. We bring our small grandchildren so we don’t get to enjoy even half the activities! Wristbands for all the activities are $16 or you can buy some things by tickets. We splurge and get wristbands. It’s a little pricey for a 3 year old who can only do a few things but we consider it helping the farmers. There jobs are not easy. Grab the family or a date and go enjoy the fresh air and festivities at Gallrein Farms!

Mary Lee — Google review

What a great family oriented farm. Gallrein farms is an excellent place to pick a pumpkin in the fall, grab some flowers in the spring, or spend a summer day. You can also pickup some fresh produce here and everything seems reasonably priced.

Paul Krimm — Google review

An excellent family experience, very kid friendly with a varied selection of activities. My granddaughter thoroughly enjoyed her day here, especially the corn pit.$16 includes most activities. Only if you will be doing activities do you need to pay, admittance and wandering is free. Food services was closed however food trucks were on site.

Sherrie P — Google review

The Sunflower festival very nice festival. A lot of activities for older kids, need more activities for toddlers. Should have less charge for children under 5 or 6. Nice variety of different food trucks. My only complaint is having to buy a $15.00 wrist band just to ride the train with your 2 and 4 year old granddaughters.

Tami Day — Google review

This place is still amazing. We haven't been in 5 years or so. It rained, and the field was muddy while we were there, but the family and I still had a great time. The hunted house was a blast. They did a great job with it.

Gaines In Life — Google review

Such a fun and festive afternoon! We got several good pumpkins and at a good price at 49¢ per pound! There are plenty of food options (kettle corn, tacos, bbq, and more). Two slides, an obstacle course, a corn maze, a haunted house, apple cannons, a petting zoo (featuring a cow, some goats, some sheep, and some rabbits). We spent several hours walking around and enjoying the activities. All in all an excellent visit with friendly staff and lots to do!

Jana LaRue — Google review

We visited Gallrein for the Sunflower Festival and had such a great time! It was much larger than we had expected. The sunflowers were gorgeous! So much yummy fresh produce, honey, jams, apple butter and more in the market. The deli menu looks incredible, as well. Definitely recommend a trip to Gallrein!

Great time with the kids, besides the closing time being at 5pm Mon-Thurs. Also, don't expect to have all the main attractions open during the week. But some of the other open main attractions, like hay ride, corn maze, feeding zoo, etc were open. Just was looking frwd to the haunted house. Overall the kids were smiling and happy

I had a great time there. I was still able to do alot of fun things without paying any money. I loved the Hillbilly basketball and the petting zoo. Lebarn James fr.

Had an amazing time with our family today at the farm. There was very friendly staff throughout... the vendor trucks had some great food. The land is well kept very clean and manicured. Large parking area but it's a little bit of a walk for elders... they should consider a handicap parking area or drop off area.As for the activities they have a train tractor ride for the kids....(adults can ride too) they had a HUGE corn maze, 2 big slides but they have a height requirement of around 4ft I think 🤔 they have a large corn pit for everyone to get in and play. My son loved it. There was a huge pillow jump area which was packed. There was a very cute carousel set up in the barn. There's a obstacle course for the older kids and a hay pyramid and maze. A small haunted house. There's a pedal car track for the older kids. A cute barrel train ride for smaller kids. The apple cannons were a blast....(see what I did there 🤣) the face painting mom and son team were excellent 👏 👌 . They have a large indoor market with lots of goodies and decor. There's a hay ride out to the pumpkin patch which the lines stayed pretty long.A decent size petting Zoo with sheep, goats, llamas, donkeys and cows. They sell ice cream cones with food for $1 ea to feed the animals. A very nice outdoor hand washing station with the good excel air dryers at each end just outside the petting zoo.We spent all day there and still didn't get everything done. But we all had a blast and made some great memories. I do believe we will make this a yearly routine.

Emily is such an amazing person. I can honestly say it was the best trail experience I have ever been on. Her property is magical - the rolling hills , the cattle, going through the river it was something out of a movie. And our horses were the coolest horses . They knew exactly what to do at all times . We will defenitly be back for another adventure. Emily has something extremely special that I don’t think you can get anywhere else.

Our ride this morning was nothing less than breathtaking. Emily and Drew are the quintessential hosts. We were a small group with little to no experience but Emily and Drew were beyond accommodating, friendly and knowledgeable and made us all feel comfortable. They were thoughtful to match the right horse to the right rider. Would highly recommend for any skill level. Looking forward to returning and staying at their on site AirBnB. Best thing we did while staying in Lexington.

What a pleasure to ride with Big Red Stables! Emily was very friendly and easy to work with when it came to scheduling our ride and was patient with answering my questions (there were many 😅). As soon as we arrived we felt cared for, Emily and the team made sure everyone felt comfortable and went over the basic safety practices of horseback riding. They did an amazing job in assigning the riders to their horses. The horses are very well taken care of and loved, and they are alive and responsive compared to some other places in town. The ride is truly enjoyable for people at any riding level. We did the 1.5 hour ride and loved it! Just enough time to see everything and not feel rushed. The trails themselves are beautiful! It felt as though we were riding in a painting. If you are looking for a place to trial ride look no further! Big Red Stables is where you want to go!

We had a great time riding here. The scenery was fantastic and Drew and Emily really made sure we were well suited to the horses. My son has special needs but has been horseback riding for many years and they really took a lot of time to make sure he was comfortable. I highly recommend this experience!

Today “little” Emily was our guide and definitely provided an amazing experience. From grooming the horses (which I definitely recommend upgrading for) to showing us the amazing land this tour was amazing. You need to check this place out. Trust me!

We had such an amazing time on our ride! Our guide, Drew was super friendly and full og great conversation. The views were beautiful. Seeing all the cattle, especially the new calves was a nice touch. And the horses were a blast to ride and well behaved! Would definitely recommend going here if you're ever in the area!

Historically, I was extremely happy with Big Red Stables. I and my friend have gone here on two prior occasions to ride their horses around my birthday. Like most places, they require some up front information from you (height, weight, etc...) before they will book your appointment. We sent in all the same information we have sent in previous years but this year we were told we could not come out to ride because we did not meet the height and weight requirements. This is confusing to me because we have ridden in the past and have never experienced any issues. And even with all the same information we have used in prior years, we were denied this year. It was very disappointing to learn how their rules have changed. Horses have carried multiple passengers and equipment for centuries but I guess they no longer have horses that are able to accommodate or they have changed their rules. Be sure to call them before trying to book an appointment so you know your entire family can ride. For the record, I am less than 180 lbs and most places start denying around 250. I guess we will start spending our money elsewhere.Edit: Weak retort. You didn't bother to address that for several years this was okay but suddenly it is not. Also, the fact that your horses cannot handle the weight of an average person is concerning. Are you not taking care of them adequately? Maybe someone should make some calls and have you looked into. Arbitrary rules are suspicious. I have been riding my entire life and this is the first and only time we've been denied. I volunteered for a riding facility and led trail rides. Your rules make no sense and I doubt they are comparable for the area. We will take our money elsewhere.

Gina P — Google review

This is not your typical (and tiresome) nose-to-tail trail ride! My husband and I travel often and we go horseback riding wherever we visit as much as possible. As an experienced rider, the trotting, cantering, and even galloping over hills with beautiful scenery as a background is an absolute thrill! It feels as though each ride is tailored, where the guide (Emily) interacts with you on the ride, rather than having their nose stuck in their phone. Daisy and Texas were fantastic horses and Emily and Drew are some of the kindest people you will meet, which is often a rarity at other riding places. If I were local, I would be there often. Since I'm not, I'm hoping my Life's path brings me back to Big Red Stables! Highly recommend!

Tours of a bourbon-making facility, plus tastings & merchandise at a visitor center with bar & shop.

We really enjoyed our tasting at Four Roses. The grounds here are really beautiful and their buildings have great Spanish architecture. When we arrived it looked like the group for our tasting was going to be really large, however, we were broken up into smaller groups and brought to a tasting room so it felt more personal. Summer, our guide did a great job teaching us about the Four Roses history and about the bourbon. You can bring children into this distillery. It isn’t a 21+ distillery only, but I would suggest if you don’t have too - then don’t. There is plenty of parking here and the restrooms are super nice.

Jessica Panicucci — Google review

It is a beautiful, bustling, lively facility. The tasting was presented by a very knowledgeable instructor. We walked in knowing nothing about their bourbon and walked out with two bottles. A fun and enjoyable experience. Definitely Highly recommend going. You will not be disappointed.

Gorgeous campus! The campus will remind you of an old Spanish Mission. The tour was great. One aspect I loved is they gave everyone earbuds so you could wander a bit and explore while still hearing every word of the tour guide. At the end of the tour you got to taste the best of Four Roses Bourbon and got to hear from one of their master distillers. They let you keep the glass, which is a really nice sipping glass. Overall just a fantastic bourbon experience!

Joe Massey — Google review

As always, a class act. The wife and I went to the newly opened visitor center and were blown away at the new aesthetic. The staff were friendly and attentive. The co*cktails were delicious! I'm a personal fan of the Thunder Punch co*cktail they are currently serving. Beautiful setting, beautiful grounds and the archive section is incredibly interesting. If you are a bourbon lover and enjoy the history of the industry, I highly recommend stopping in!

Finally got the chance to see it personally, Four Roses is a beautiful distillery, it also has a brand new visitor center which is really nice with a cool bar. There are no rick houses to see as the barrels are stored elsewhere but they give you a detailed information on the distilling and allow you to get up, close and personal with it. You have to wear headsets also which are a little bit clunky, but overall a really good tour. Everyone was so helpful at the shopping center.

Sach — Google review

This is a sprawling distillery campus with gorgeous views. The gift shop is very large with a bar serving some great co*cktails. The bourbon is high quality, but also readily available at all liquor stores. You might be able to snag a speciality single barrel before it is available outside of the distillery. I paid $100 for an OBSV single barrel that ultimately made it to Total Wine for $60 (on sale).

Todd — Google review

Always good to get good lessons and history from those that love what they do. Our guide for the tasting, Jason ensured we had a great experience, even before doing the tasting, he didn't mind stepping away from the bar to answer questions me and my buddy had. And the facility was beautiful.

R Smith — Google review

I had a lovely time walking through the whole distillery process. The guide really focused on the different ways four roses makes a batch, then how the batches are mixed to create the final whiskeys. He talked about how FR has a one story distillery so there is less temperature difference and more consistent end product. The four whiskeys I tried were all delicious. Great tasting room.

Mark P — Google review

This is a beautiful place to drive into! The scenery pulling into Four Roses is breathtaking. The staff is welcoming. The gift shop has something for anyone. And you can grab a bite at their restaurant. I suggest you take a little time to tour this distillery. Don’t forget to take in the moment too!

Kimmie Davis — Google review

Beautiful Spanish style distillery with lots of history. The grounds were very pretty with lots of picture-esque spots.Took a nice sip and stroll tour by a tour guide named Jason who did a great job. Tour provided a great insight on the distillery with an included tasting of 4 bourbons: their name brand basic four roses, the small batch, the single barrel, and the small batch select bourbon. All great tasting notes in their own way.

John Lawler — Google review

Made it to Four Roses shortly before they closed while checking out the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. The facility is beautiful! We were able to browse the gift shop and make a purchase before they closed, then we did the self guided walking tour. Definitely will be back, hopefully with enough time to browse and have a drink on the next trip.

The location was perfect. The weather played nice for the 12pm show. The staff was not only extremely knowledgeable but extremely kind. They all felt like they loved working there and loved the product. Edwina in particular was very pleasant. Her facts were vast and her jokes were hilarious. The bartender was also very knowledgeable and courteous. My only want was for there to be something only available there for the tours. I understand there are sometimes bottles but we would have loved to see even airplane bottles of something we could only get there. Overall absolutely fantastic and highly recommend!

My visit to the Four Roses Distillery was an unforgettable experience! From the moment I stepped onto the property, I was immersed in the rich history and craftsmanship of bourbon making. The tour guides were incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about their craft, and they took us through every step of the bourbon-making process, from selecting the unique strains of yeast to the beautiful aging warehouses. It was fascinating to learn about the brand's dedication to quality and their commitment to using only the finest ingredients.Of course, the tasting at the end of the tour was a highlight. Sampling the different varieties of Four Roses bourbon was a treat for the senses. Each one had its own distinct flavor profile, and I left with a newfound appreciation for the art of bourbon tasting. The distillery itself is a picturesque gem, with well-maintained grounds and a charming atmosphere. It's clear that they take pride in their heritage and in providing an exceptional visitor experience.Whether you're a bourbon enthusiast or just looking for a unique and educational outing, I highly recommend a visit to the Four Roses Distillery. It's a true gem in the world of bourbon, and I can't wait to return!

Our family of 7 enjoyed our tour of Four Roses! The Welcome area is beautifully designed and the property is beautiful. Our guide, Dee, was excellent. It was so nice having headphones that allowed us hear Dee as we walked and learned about Four Roses. My parents, both 80, especially appreciated this nice touch. I was excited to get to take a souvenir home from the tasting room.

Regina Christ — Google review

Excellent Tour! Jason N did a fantastic job. They are conscious of those who are hard of hearing and to large groups by providing everyone with a headset so that you don’t miss anything if you’re not standing right next to the tour guide. The tasting at the end is very nice and the guide provides a nice tasting experience with explanation of the notes and flavors. Highly recommended for anyone in the area!

Benjamin Hyink — Google review

The tour was very detailed and thorough. We got to see all the aspects of the Brewing process. Shelby was our tour guide and she was very passionate and knowledgeable. They have earpieces so you hear all the details very clearly. The Distillery was very easy to Traverse, the shuttle buses were definitely a plus. Highly recommend this tour to all age groups.

Dean DeVonce II — Google review

The visitors center, where we started our tour, was beautiful! We enjoyed our tour guide very much. He kept the group engaged through the tour and was very informative. Overall it was a great experience! The bourbon tasting was beautifully done and our guide, Hunter, explained each glass in such detail I could really taste all the flavors he was explaining and felt the “Kentucky Hug” he said the single barrel would give :) 10 out of 10 would recommend!

Amanda Thomas — Google review

A must stop on the Bourbon Trail. Hunter was a great guide for the tasting tour. Edwina makes the best co*cktails—you have to take time to have one of her drinks when you go. She also helped with local recommendations for restaurants which were spot on!

Lori Hahn — Google review

Probably one of the best tours on the bourbon trail. Excellent guide without any boring facts and whatnot. The grounds at Four Roses are beautiful. Perfect tour experience!

Very beautiful and clean campus! The audio assistance was great addition to the tour. Your marketing team has done an amazing job with the visitors center and the display of your products.

Kevin W — Google review

So for this trip, we had only gone in the gift shop to explore and buy bourbon, but the place is so beautiful, and the smells of the bourbon in the air were so yummy, that I definitely want to come back for a tour and tasting! We had toddlers with us, that weren’t entirely thrilled to be there, and while the employees were nice and welcoming to our kids, it didn’t seem super kid friendly, especially because the set up in the store gave me a heart attack anytime one of my kids got too close. But they still get 5 stars anyway, because they were very nice (to me and my kids), the place was beautiful, and I definitely want to come back!

State government office

Sights & Landmarks

Historic beaux arts–style government building opened in 1910, with guided tours available.

I visit state capitol buildings. Kentucky has a very nice capitol with beautiful landscaping, gorgeous entry way with Italian marble throughout. An assortment of paintings and statues. Abe Lincoln featured in the rotunda. A interior dome that changes color. Grand sweeping marble stairs and stained glass throughout. Rich in history and pride, I would recommend this state capitol for a visit. The city of Frankfort is pretty cool as well. Lots of historical buildings downtown.

Overall had a great experience. Visited the day before the governors inauguration so there was a ton going on. Beautiful building. Would recommend the guided tour cuz I spent the first part just walking around aimlessly and didn't get much history that way.

A visit to the Kentucky State Capital is a must. Not only can you meet with your state legislators, you can watch them from the gallery, see the dolls of the First Ladies and the quilt squares made for each county. The architecture is amazing and the Capital rotunda is a sight to behold. I would go early because parking fills up fast. There is a cafeteria in the Annex building where all the legislators office are as well.

The staff is super nice and the lady who did the tour was very kind and did a great job showing us the important rooms and details and was always giving us a lot of information. The capitol building is huge and has such a great architecture. A visit is definitely worth it!

Drive around only. Came on a Saturday afternoon so nothing was open for tours. The grounds are beautiful & it made me proud to be a Kentuckian. There are some really neat art installations/ sculptures and the landscaping itself has several areas that are living sculptures. And then.. as we drove around and discovered the ROSE GARDEN! It was all in bloom and just amazing. I have never seen so many different colors & varieties of Roses in one spot. Established in 1961 you can tell whoever has been in charge of cultivating this garden oven the years has to love the roses and what they are doing.. size wise its not that big.. but that just makes it even more special to me. Simply lovely.

Impressive Capitol Building and grounds. Parked, walked right in, signed in with security as was allowed to roam the building (State Troopers and staff were all friendly). At the time of our visit it was obvious some TLC was needed but renovations have been implemented since. The House was in session so we took seats in the gallery to watch for a short time, then we strolled around observing architectural wonders and historical displays. Statues of notable people (Lincoln!) are located under the rotunda but we noticed empty spaces (Jeff Davis had been moved. BLM and Gov. Beshear had made their wishes known and that's too bad. History shouldn't be denied.)Still, everyone showed Kentucky hospitality and we enjoyed our visit. I recommend.

I have been to around 15 State Capitols, this was one was really nice. My favorite part is it had the most fully functioning library out of all of them! The Librarian staff was so insightful about the history of the building and Kentucky. As well as being able to compare her own Capitol building to other state capitals. She was able to suggest a lovely spot for breakfast Andy's which was an absolutely delicious experience. So overall my trip through Kentucky in Louisville and Frankfort and a few other stops was very nice. I suggest everybody stop at the state capitol building.

Finished a tour with Mr.Lee Watts from Patriot Point and I am so glad we took our kids for the capital tour. We really want to come back when it gets warmer. It's so important we show our kids the place where their elected officials work hard to keep our state great. We learned so much about the Christian heritage in our history as a state something very important to my family and I.

We have visited enough capitols to compare and prefer the ones that actually tell us about the state history. This Kentucky State Capitol does. Unfortunately, we did not have enough time go in, but walked around this place and it was stunning. The building's exterior and grounds well kept.

This is a really good place to go see a piece of Kentucky history! The building is really interesting so definitely get a tour. Outside the building is fun to see as well. I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to make a painting for the Governor's Derby poster!

Decided to try and make it to all 50 state capital buildings as they are complete marvels of engineering and building. The Kentucky capital marks my 8th, and it was quite impressive as the others. It had a very picturesque grounds, and immaculate inside of it. Luckily it was Tuesday and not much was going on. A few other visitors there.

It is a beautiful building with a lot of history. Construction started in 1905 and was finished at 1909. Granite and marble inside was from, Vermont, Georgia, and India. honestly, I wouldn’t enjoyed it as much if George and Linda hadn’t been there, they were delightful. Good people!I WOULD RECOMMEND

The building is under construction and was closed the day I arrived, but I can imagine how beautiful the building is. The surrounding environment looks good even though it is covered with little snow. Will return in the future.

We’re working on visiting all 50 State Capital buildings and Kentucky’s was truly beautiful! Grand, pristine with tons of history and interesting facts, this was one of our favorite Capital tours. Our tour guide Scott Johnson was great, and shared tons of interesting stories about the building. 5 out of 5 ⭐️!

Very friendly staff. Excellent interior with a high quality marble floors. Visitors need to be careful as there are a lot of marble steps all around. If you focus on taking photos, there is a chance you slip down . Got a chance to walk into both House and Senete. Great feeling to feel the place where people's representatives discuss and make laws.

We had a wonderful time and attending one of the tours is a must! The staff were extremely helpful and kind. They even recommended a great local place for lunch. There were many different chocolates and candies to buy and each one we have tried has been amazing. I don’t like Bourbon but their Bourbon Balls are light, creamy, balanced perfectly with chocolate and sugar. I will be back again.

Stefenia Edgington — Google review

Took a tour of this candy factory where they sell Bourbon Balls and found it to be very interesting. They still make the Bourbon Balls using the same equipment that they used back in the 1800. They also sell a large assortment different candies. Here is a couple pictures but they wouldn’t let me take pictures of the candy making machines. Also the factory only has workers Monday thru Thursday so if you plan your tour do it on one of these days.

LINDA JENKINSON — Google review

It was near closing time. There was no chance of a tour at our visit, but I will surely book ahead of time for another visit. The literature was very interesting. They give out samples of adult truffles (buffalo trace bourbon), and they sell boo-boo truffles, which was my choice. Other choices are available. The artifacts are interesting to look at. Just make sure not to park in the area for the VFW. For fun, get pictures with the horse statue and the old motorized horse.

The bourbon balls are to die for! The place is quite quaint and we got to get a tour So I must say we didn't barely spend any time in the production room which is where the majority of stuff happens and I really wanted to see...... That was the one and only downside to which is completely covered up once you try a piece of chocolate.

Can’t believe how much history this little shop has, great grandson was our tour guide and he was very knowledgeable We will definitely bring our selves back

Lara Honeycutt — Google review

Great tour, short video and small museum followed by all the delicious chocolates! Tour guide was knowledgeable. Staff was very helpful. Tours include free sample of the "Bourbon Ball". Enjoyed this visit. Bought a pound of chocolate too!

A fun, informative tour of the historic Rebecca Ruth candy factory! It's family friendly and interesting, not to mention the Chocolate!

Sheree Ross — Google review

20230912 same friendly services!! Love shopping at Rebecca Ruth!! Just spent $113 on a box of bourbon truffles, bourbon cherries, bourbon toffee, 8 dark chocolate bars, 10 milk chocolate bar, and 8 dark cocoa bars.20220719 I really enjoyed my visit here today! The employees are so friendly, helpful and informative! I got a little history, and a piece of the bourbon ball to sample. I bought a box of bourbon caramel candy, a dozen if mini chocolate bar, a box of mixed pulled candy, and 2 bottles if bourbon hot sauce. I might come back tomorrow and probably buy a box of mini chocolate to pass out at work. I need to try one first, to find out if I like the taste and texture. I mentioned to them that I am afraid the chocolate might melt because I'm going to the Arboretum at UK, and they were so nice to give me a block of ice. Good thing I always travel with a cooler, and there's an ice machine at the hotel. I am pretty sure they will make it home in perfect condition! Please support small businesses!

Great little random stop as we were coming through Kentucky… we love chocolate so we definitely had to stop and check it out! A lot of history and tons a chocolates to choose from along with some other candies! Can’t wait to taste the chocolates we got, wasn’t much just enough to enjoy the experience.

Jamie Runyon — Google review

Stopped by this candy store right after it opened at 10am and was greeted so kindly. The lady working the store was very enthusiastic when helping pick out all our treats. She gave everyone in the store free samples and helped me pick out way too many chocolates. The store also has an amazing history and is still family owned to this day.I urge you to stop by and support this business!

We always go to Rebecca Ruth Candy Store in downtown Frankfort, but always arrive too late to join in on a tour. This past weekend, we were able to to take the tour, and boy was it informative! I had no idea about the history of RR Chocolate, and it’s impressive how long the tradition has survived through so many hurdles. The candy (especially the bourbon balls) is amazing! We will continue to make our monthly visits!

MaryBeth Wolf — Google review

The gentleman behind the counter was friendly and offered us a free sample bourbon ball for our first visit. It was tasty. The shop was well organized and quaint with a good variety of chocolates, candies, souvenirs and other unique finds. They have flavors of cotton candy I have not see anywhere else.

What a quaint place! My fiancé will always remember his first experience and bourbon balls. We just left and had a wonderful visit. Instantly devoured our Puffamels in the car. ❤️❤️❤️

Time-tested distillery offering its own brand of bourbons & warehouse tours with tastings.

Such an AWESOME experience! I loved every minute of visiting Buffalo Trace. It almost felt like you were in a town of itself. One tip I'd give is to definitely make a reservation before heading over there for the day. They are continuously busy so it's hard to just show up and expect to be able to schedule a tour. Aside from that, the tasting/ tour is very cool and they have a huge gift shop where you can purchase a bottle at the end of the tour!

Mackenzie Feeley — Google review

Hard to find anything bad to say. Lee, our guide on the Old Taylor Tour, was our best guide of the trip. His knowledge and insight was fantastic. The gift shop has so much great merchandise it’s hard to determine what to take home. The tasting was great and I loved the bourbon ball and Freddie’s root beer with Bourbon cream combo. My harshest critique is that beyond the rotation releases you aren’t getting anything special here. But the grounds are perfect. The expansion will bring twice as much bourbon to the market eventually. This is the Mecca and a must stop. So much history.

John Whitehill Jr. — Google review

This Place was absolutely amazing. We absolutely loved coming here and it was an amazing experience. We were lucky to have Freddy as our tour guide. He was incredible and made our experience perfect. If you are interested in getting good bourbon, you gotta stand in line early in the morning each day. We got in line at 8am for two days in a row and got Blantons and Eagle Rare.

Hunter Vaughan — Google review

Phenomenal experience!! Our Trace Tour with Jimmy C was educational but light hearted enough that we could easily joke around and/or ask questions. The distillery itself is massive, but so well maintained! I wish I could bottle the smell in the air.Staff in the gift shop were friendly, personable, and beyond helpful. Additionally, the gift shop had such a great array of everything! I ended up spending way more than I intended, but self restraint kept me from spending what I wanted to... so we'll call this balance. We had a great time and learned even more about bourbon than anticipated. We can't wait for a visit back to Buffalo Trace the next time we are in Kentucky!

Brooke Secoy — Google review

Had a phenomenal experience on the tour and tasting. Our tour guide was informative and I really enjoyed seeing the distillery and the amazing scenery surrounding the facility. The tasting did feel a little bit rushed, probably lasting no more than 15 minutes or so. But all of the samples were delicious, including the surprisingly smooth vodka and the really delicious root beer. The gift shop is gigantic, and were we fortunate enough to get in early and grab a bottle of EH Taylor.Overall, highly recommend the tour and tasting.

Scott Sulik — Google review

Visited Buffalo Trace Distillery with some friends for a bachelor party. What a great experience. If you enjoy bourbon, you will enjoy visiting this distillery. Our tour guide, Eugene, was knowledgeable and professional. He showed us some great spots around the grounds and then led the tasting after the tour. Lots of interesting history here at Buffalo Trace. Even got to see some Pappy Van Winkle and Eagle Rare.

Scott Coble — Google review

Historic facility, iconic brand, popular destination to purchase bourbon. Free tour was nice and keep in mind you are limited to one bottle per brand per person. Apparently there is a bourbon shortage. The tour focuses quite a bit on the history. In fact about 25 minutes of the 70 minute tour was spent on the oral history. There is a short walk around the grounds, a stop in the barrel receiving dock, a short walk into one of the barrel aging warehouses, a quick stop in the Blantons bottling room, and finally a tasting room stop. It was an average tour compared to other breweries or distilleries visited. The tour was rather limited in geography--no access to the brewing room or basically any views of how the booze is made--that was disappointing.Note--Eagle Rare sells out within an hour of opening on most days. I don't understand why they limit it so much. You'll find alcoholics, hipsters, and old-timers jogging from the parking lot to the gift store when it opens to make sure they secure their ONE bottle. Very strange. Good for Buffalo Trace for building a brand loyalty though.Hat tip to Todd for an entertaining tour.

Brad Kosar — Google review

Let me start off by saying that they offer sampling even if you are not doing a tour. I feel this is key when it comes to new whiskeys you haven't tried. The staff is very nice and informative. The sample process is also very well structured. The gift shop is very large. We purched a ton. Definitely will return someday!

Bob Houghtelin — Google review

This was a magical experience! You cannot miss this one of a kind tour and it's totally free. The engineering that goes into how they make their whiskeys is phenomenal and mind-blowing. The experience of the tour guides is second to none and you will learn things you never thought of. I'm a fan of American Bourbon and this tour sets everything I believe in stone. Not to mention the whiskeys that will be available to you in the tasting and in the gift shop. It's worth multiple returns!!

Kevin B — Google review

Great tour! Very informative and worthwhile. The tasting and gift shop were icing on the cake. They had plenty of EH Taylor small batch available. Will be back for the hard hat tour next

L R — Google review

One of the best free things I've ever done. All though i enjoy bourbon, i definitely didn't know much about it. During this tour, you learned pretty much everything about the process and the history of the distillery over the years. I am a buffalo trace fan and it was interesting tasting the difference between a $30 dollar bottle and a much higher priced bottle. I would definitely do it again.

Doug Ainsworth — Google review

Very organized! So you go in and park, then go to the visitor center/check in to get your IDs scanned and a wrist band. Then you walk into the actual gift shop and tasting room. There’s 2 stories, the upper level has the tasting rooms you go to after the tour and where you can taste of several bourbons (no charge), and then a small tasting station in the first floor for 1 special bourbon (I tasted the Traveler). Pretty cool! Ask them why the buildings and trees are black!!!!

Winnie Miller — Google review

We loved hearing the stories and learning the history about all the brands. Patrick was an EXCELLENT tour guide and tasting leader. Beautiful campus and gift shop! I don’t remember their names but the lady from Hungary that checked us in for our tour and the lady who checked us out in the gift shop… both super friendly and excellent as well. The only negative was the lack of variety in the bourbon available for purchase. We had a fabulous overall experience and will be back!

Vicki Stevens — Google review

Great tour, tasting, and visit. It is great to see progress on the expansion. We visited on a Monday and didn't have a reservation for a tour or tasting. They were able to fit us in even though everything was unavailable online. They now have a tasting room above the gift shop, so it is worth just showing up and doing what you can. The earlier you arrive, the better the chance to score some bottles from the gift shop.

Russell Silverstein — Google review

I will return again someday. We enjoyed every minute of it. I love how they belief in their product. They give free tours with a free tasting at the end. They do so well that their tours are often booked solid. Make reservations before you go.

Tina Pauly — Google review

Visited the famous Buffalo Trace distillery on my recent trip to KY. The grounds are awesome! If you’re looking for some of the allocated bottles I’d suggest getting there early. The gift shop is amazing and the fact that they don’t charge for the tour is also an added plus. We did the “hard hat” tour, it was a neat behind the scenes experience. Make sure to try a bourbon ball along with some Freddie’s root beer and bourbon cream. A must stop piece of American history!

Erik L (Fish Guru) — Google review

We loved our first ever visit to this beautiful historic distillery we went 2 more days!Arboretum tour, The trace tour & a gift shop only day. Got there at gift shop opening time each day and we’re able to purchase our “quota” of the special bottle offering of the day. A complimentary tasting even comes with visiting the gift shop if you’re not scheduled for a tour! Everyone who works there is incredibly friendly and really seem to enjoy what they do. Leave time in your day to wonder the grounds, especially the gardens which are open to the public. There’s even a playground in that area for kids. The woodworker was very informative and it was fun to see his shop. We ate at Firehouse Sandwich shop for lunch & it was delicious. We truly enjoyed each day!

Took the Old Taylor Tour and the Hard Hat Tour and they are fantastic experiences! The tour guides are very informative and give excellent information about the distillery and the history of the property and the bourbon made there. The Gift Shop provides great selections at unrivaled prices. The staff are all very nice and provide a nice feel all over the campus.

Very cool place to visit if you’re passing through Kentucky. I made a quick stop in and didn’t get see everything because the place is so big. Enjoyed a tasting and some treat from the gift shop. Would love to return

Slick Stevie — Google review

Buffalo Trace has very deeps roots in bourbon history, which you can learn during their free tours. It is a very neat place to visit, with people visiting from all around the globe. Scheduling a tour is a bit of a nightmare, because all of the tour slots are full months in advance. I recommend going on the waitlist for whichever date you want, because that’s how I was able to get in. You are able to visit the distillery without a tour and just visit the gift shop, which I don’t like because bourbon resellers come early in the morning and purchase the limited bottles they set out before the tour people can get to them. I believe that purchasing these bottles should be limited to touring customers. The gift shop has a lot of near BT products as well. There is a free bourbon tasting area, however, if you’re in a tour you cannot do a tasting since there is a free tasting at the end of the tour. I was fine with that until I realize both tastings had different offerings so I wasn’t able to taste all of the bourbons. Our tour guide was great and taught us everything about the BT history and showed us around some remarkable buildings. I recommend this place if you want to learn more about bourbon history and see how it’s made, but try to plan ahead and arrive early if you want a Blanton’s or EH Taylor bottle.

What an amazing place, our tour guide was Michael, he was very knowledgeable and led a great tour. For free you can't beat it, wish we had got there early so I could have got some E.H. Taylor was they were sold out by time we got there. If your coming to try and get some good hard to find bourbon them you better show up early.

My wife and I took the 2 hour hard hat tour on our anniversary. Extremely well done and informative. We absolutely loved this distillery and its history. Our tour guide was amazing and the scenery was beautiful. Definitely recommend a stop at buffalo trace

Brandon Mills — Google review

I loved it here. We did the Taylor tour and had a good time listening to all the history. Shout out Annie for being such a good guide. Even of you don't drink it's still fun to walk around and enjoy the history. If you're like me and don't drink, you can still be part of the tasting and they just give you the delicious root beer. Tons of fun

Buffalo trace: Around $30Blantons: Around $65Eagle Rare: Around $50Weller Special:We got up at 3am and drove over 8 hours to check out this distillery and it was worth it! I gotta say the fact that the distillery keeps the alcohol prices at MSRP makes me a loyal customer. You can tell they really care about their customers. Form what I gather most the special liquor of the day is usually sold out around noon. I hope this helps!

The Frankfort Cemetery, a stunning memorial park, is open from 7:30 am until dusk. Notable figures such as Kentucky governors and artist Paul Sawyer are buried here. Visitors can admire the burial site of Daniel Boone and his wife Rebecca, which offers a breathtaking view of the Kentucky capital and downtown Frankfort. As they explore further, they will come across the burial site of Paul Sawyer before reaching the touching memorial dedicated to unborn children.

A beautiful historic cemetery. You could spend hours exploring/honoring those interred here. Make sure you take in the beautiful views of the Kentucky river.

Drove through on a Saturday before heading back home. This place is huge with a tremendous amount of history. Stopped by the grave of Daniel Boone and his wife Rebecca. Beautiful views of downtown Frankfort, Kentucky from their resting place.

Jay Frazier — Google review

Is a wonderful site. Daniel Boone's grave was very picturesque. The War Memorial was both surprising and wonderful!

Ben Stivers — Google review

Couldn't take the dogs inside, so we had to stay in the car, but it was beautifully kept. It's obvious that the staff cares about their job and takes pride in it. One of the finer cemeteries I've visited.

trent silvey — Google review

Drove thru around noon on the Sat before Memorial day.. This place is HUGE.. but at the same time it is easy to navigate. I wish I had more time to spend here. Some people may not think visiting cemeteries is interesting or an attraction but especially one like this is. It is filled with so much history & art! It's like an outdoor history/art museum & botanical garden. There are a couple of Kentucky governors buried in the cemetery. Daniel & Rebecca Boone's burial site overlooking the River, the Kentucky capital buildings and Historic downtown Frankfort. Artist Paul Sawyer is resting here & there is a memorial for lost unborn children which i found interesting. I was amazed by the sheer size of some of the mighty oak and other variety of trees in the park. It would be interesting to find out how old some of them are.. cause yea they are the biggest in circumference that i have ever seen in person. The staff were busy getting the grounds ready for Memorial Day. But you could tell that the grounds & markers are maintained and nice all the time. I'm not sure how old this cemetery is or how far back the dates run but there are clearly several generations here... lots of stories.. There is a large variety of flowers & other plants planted throughout the grounds but what i really wished i could have spent more time doing was just looking at all of the amazing marble sculptures. The artistry, talent & skill not to mention hours of back breaking hard work it had to have taken to create those amazing monuments.. and there are sooo many here... so many I just couldn't stop & look at them like I wanted.. to appreciate them. I didn't even have time to drive thru the whole thing.

You will come out humbled by the powerful display of patriotism and pride. You will find tributes to War sacrifices ranging from 1812 to the present. Also you will find the grave of Daniel Boone and even a touching tribute to the unborn (it is the South, so I pay my respect).I shed a tear.....the power of it escapes words. The cemetery overlooks the State Capitol and the Kentucky River....just incredible.

The cemetery is currently opened from 7:30 am to dark. There is a couple of Kentucky governors buried in the cemetery. Stop and see Daniel Boone and wife, Rebecca Boone's burial site. Enjoy the view of the Kentucky capitsl and downtown Frankfort from the Boone's burial site. After leaving burial site, stop and see burial site of artist Paul Sawyer on your way to the memorial of unborn children. On your way out of cemetery stop and see military monument in front part of cemetery. The cemetery is filled with peonies, roses and irises throughout, which are gorgeous to look at and smell when when the wind blows.

Beautiful distillery. Gift shop and welcome center are very well put together. I strongly suggest that you visit the bar around back before you go into the gift shop. As the glasses on the inside are at for sale at $12.95. However however if you order a drink at the bar you get a free complimentary glass to go with it and a normally range around 12 to $15 a shot. But in terms you still get that $12 glass for free

We had a great experience at Wild Turkey. The temporary gift shop is small but more than adequate. We got to meet Russell and he signed a few bottles for us.

Todd — Google review

Wild Turkey Distillery had a great gift shop, wonderful, fun, funny and informative guide. And the absolute BEST view we saw in the state of KY. Our guide presented all the history and then had fun with all of us during the tasting. He gave examples of recipes to make with Wild Turkey. I loved the American Honey the best. We tasted American Honey Sting at the bar and bought a bottle of that to take home. Good Bourbon. Make sure you put this on your itinerary for the Bourbon Trail.

We drove quite a long time to get here. My husband has been drinking wild turkey for many many years. When we got there we were greeted, not really, being told that we were three minutes late and the testing was closed. Lots of people were in the tasting room. The employees that were talking to us We’re not friendly, not welcoming. We’ve visited several other distillery’s in town over the last few days and even without a reservation and or walking in late we were always greeted with a warm welcome. We will now find a new bourbon to drink on a daily basis. Bye-bye wild turkey.

Michelle Denny — Google review

The primary gift shop was temporarily closed due to construction, but we were able to visit the pop-up gift shop on the property. We had the opportunity to meet Jimmy Russell which was amazing. The shop had a good selection of allocated bottles. Hopefully when we return the gift shop is completed and we will be able to schedule a distillery tour.

The gift shop was nice but small. Currently, the actual distillery is closed to visitors. If you are far away, don’t drive up for a limited bottle, even though the website states they have some for sale. Don't waste 3 hours and 20 minutes like I did. I'm from Texas and love the whisky, but I could have purchased what was in stock anywhere.

Adan Cantu — Google review

At this time Wild Turkey has a temporary pop up gift shop since the main visitors center is under renovation. The temporary location is basically a gift shop selling everything Wild Turkey with a small co*cktail lounge. There was no one attending the bar when we visited so no idea on prices or what they offer.Bottle prices are slightly higher than what you can purchase at a box store so unless it's a rare release, nothing too special at this location.Hopefully on our next visit, the main visitors center will be available as well as tours.

John Moore — Google review

They offer a gift shop with some nice items for reasonable prices. You can also head to the bar and order a drink. They offer a small amount of indoor room to drink but you are allowed to sit outside with your drink. If you pay a bit more you also get to keep your drink glasses. The bathrooms are outside (fancy porta). Overall this was a nice stop that I'm happy we didn't skip.

Terrific experience!!We have toured several of the distilleries on the Bourbon Trail and made a lot of great memories along the way. Most of them have been very nice and we've always been pleased. I had high hopes for Wild Turkey Distillery. That being said, the experience here was incredible!! The grounds are nice, with beautiful views of the Kentucky River below you and two majestic bridges over it. The visitors center looks almost small from the parking area, but trust me, it's not small at all! It's a spacious building with great displays, terrific views, a wonderful gift selection, and maybe a Kentucky legend or two! When I first walked in the door, I immediately saw him sitting there in a chair close to the door.... the legendary Jimmy Russell, Master Distiller! He was talking with the visitors, signing bottles and other souvenirs, and offering genuine smiles and conversation. I was excited to ask him to sign a bottle of his own signature Wild Turkey Rare Breed, which he did with a smile! The staff was beyond incredible! Polite, helpful, informative, and just plain fun..... they are what made our visit so special! The historic grounds, the beautiful views, and the facility could all be easily overlooked if the staff weren't so memorable as well! Oh, be sure to try out the Wild Turkey Call in the gift shop! If you're not doing it loud enough, Jimmy Russell himself might come over and show you how to do a Wild Turkey call like you mean it!We had a terrific time at Wild Turkey! It was a great experience and I highly recommend a visit!

Came here for a Valentines Day Dinner.Way over priced.Had to serve ourselves when it came to, drinks, making sure our order was being prepared even though we ordered in advance and had to pay in advance, and reminding them we were ready for each course even dessert. On top of this, no one told us we had to do all of this. We kept waiting for a waiter or waitress. When after 30 min no one came to our table we went and asked questions. So you are your own waiter/waitress.As far as the food, it was fine but nothing to brag about. Also, the cost did not include any type of drink. So after over paying for food, you also had to pay for all drinks. Tea was not even included. There was no water on the table so you had to go get a glass of water yourself every time your glass was empty.I do not recommend this place for Valentines Dinner.

For many of the wines the grapes are from other states but in Kentucky that serves to make them better. The Cabernet Sauvignon was very good; grapes from New York. The food that we had was very good. We had an excellent margherita pizza, one of the best I’ve had. The setting is very nice. It is adjacent to Elk Creek Hunt Club so there is audible skeet shooting.

Told me about great tasting wine cheeze plates for sale etc. Was excited to visit.Walked in had to ask for a hello twice to get 1. Looked like she was putting together an event. The bartender could care less. Someone putting together food walked by him 6 times not even a nod. Maybe my looks? I dressed ok jeans clean shirt brushed my teeth and hair.Must have caught them on bad day. Disappointed I persued and purchased wine. Maybe later it will make me feel better about the visit. They had a good verity of wine, to day they had only one red and two white along with some fruity wines. Tastings we’re over priced for what you got compared to other vineyards within a 50 radius. Would not drive two hours let alone a hour for a pour experience

The wine and food were great. You might want to do a special menu item more often just to have options. Also consider adding a veggie burger sandwich. You can store the veggie burgers frozen and don't have to buy them in large quantities-- one more menu option.

Food is fantastic! The staff is always so nice and helpful. Love this place and highly recommend. Beautiful scenery and winery as well. Wine flight is the way to go

We found this winery on Groupon 5 years ago and fell in love with the surroundings, wine, and seclusion. We go back for an overnight date night once a year and decided to get married there 2 years ago. It's an hour and half from home and it's nice quiet quick getaway. The place itself and wine are great the only compliant I have is the food/menu is definitely lacking. The feel of the place is upscale and I wish the menu reflected that as well however we will continue to celebrate our anniversary there every year as it holds a special place in our hearts 💕
