Stayed here last weekend with a friend of mine going down to St Augustine. Checked in and everything looked new and smelled great. Got on in the elevator to multiple guys with their shirts off and beers in their hands that had obviously had a few. Thought it could have been they were going to the pool but it was raining so not sure that was the case. Room was what I would expect from a 3 star hotel, clean and basic. Went out for the evening and came back to loud music in the parking lot that latter seemed to find its was to the room down the hall. Loud music was played through out the remainder of the evening even after a call to the front desk. Woke up to and headed down stairs to the complementary breakfast and the elevator smelled of beer that was obviously spilled overnight and not cleaned before guest were to leave the next morning. Breakfast was a hard pass, defiantly could offer some healthier options, fruit flies around the fruit and I'm not much on cold hard boiled eggs. After a long night of listing to other peoples music definitely could have used a good cup of coffee. Not to be had here. Good location and clean rooms but would have been nice to have some sense of hotel security. Had a conversation with another guest coming down stairs the following morning and they didn't seemed thrilled about the music the night before either. Being two women traveling alone it didn't feel like the safest environment. Wont stay here again which is unfortunate, loved the price and location. Had higher expectations from a new hotel.

With a Hilton name attached I would expect a bit more attention to the upkeep of the rooms. Bathroom fixtures such as tub/shower faucet, drains etc could all be replaced. Breakfast was nice with many options and plenty of seating. My stay was fine on the first floor which I wanted to try since I am always a ”high floor” requester. With all the negative reviews about noise I was a bit hesitant but really didn't have much of an issue with noise from above. Slamming hallway doors were more of a nuisence. As well as carpet cleaners knocking on the door with the do not disturb sign out wanted to clean the carpets. Then the next day having to be out of the room so they could clean the carpets and use my bathtub for hot water since they couldn't find any. Inconvenience for sure!

I've stayed at econo lodges in Europe, Mexico and across the US. I've even stayed here before. But this trip was easily the WORSE HOTEL EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! My experience was so awful... at one point, I thought I was being punked. But, unfortunately - this was all real. And really degrading. After driving 8 hours to get to Jacksonville (for business), I reach the front desk at 2pm. One hour before check-in time. I ask to check in early. Denied. ”Rules are rules.” So I wait in my car until official check-in time. At 3pm, I return to the front desk only to find the sliding partition closed. I knock on it - but I'm yelled to wait because they're having a staff meeting. Seriously? I and another couple stand around in the lobby for TWENTY FIVE minutes so that Krystal and her team can discuss about the shortage on one shift and the new procedures to tell guests that they'll be doing periodic room checks from now on. (Yes, I can hear you talking through the partition.) When they were good and ready, they opened the particition and couldn't find my reservation. It seems that corporate and their website operations accepted a reservation when they were fully booked. It wasn't until 4:30pm that I could finally check into my room. I could immediately tell that this was a room from the Hell Hotel - but Krystal assured me that she would get me a new room as soon as possible. (She never did.) THE ROOM The room was dark, damp, musty and disgusting. Even though the ******-like carpeting was dark, you could still see stains on it. The AC wasn't able to remove moisture from the air - so you felt like you were living in a human humidor. The globes around the light fixtures all had bugs (dead and alive) as well as mold and mildew in them. Bugs would show up on the walls from time to time. There was a family of dust bunnies living under my bed. The bed was lumpy and well-worn. The sheets: thin and cheap. The TV didn't even have a remote. (When I mentioned this to the front desk, they suggested I download an app to control the TV.) No smoke detector. A constant drip coming from my window AC unit. THE KITCHENETTE The word ”disgusting” is too nice for this efficiency kitchen. The stove top was crusted with... god knows what. The hood vent fan barely worked. The hood vent light was broken. The hood vent, itself, was falling off the particle-board cabinetry. The sink leaked under the cabinet. The microwave was old, beat-up and gross. The only thing here that was acceptable was the fridge. THE BATHROOM Suffice to say, I have found cleaner bathrooms at O'Hare airport. The shower stall featured mold in ever crevice. The tub floor hadn't been cleaned in a long while. The laminate on the bathroom shelf was peeling off particle-board. There was no toilet paper holder available. The sink had no stopper - and was the breeding ground for mosiquitos and knats. Whenever you'd turn on the water, bugs would fly out of the overfill hole. The faux-chrome sink faucet was pitted

Overall, the stay was made positive by Nikita ”Kiki” at the front desk. Kiki is a hard-working, dedicated professional, doing the best she could in the situation she is in. She clearly enjoys her job and interactions with guests. She is friendly, responsive, and very capable to perform her duties. Kiki deserves a substantial raise so she can spend a little more time with her family and not have to work 12+ hour shifts. Following is a copy/paste a comment from a previous review, with which I agree:” First of all, there seemed to be a layer of grime on everything outside. If you have exterior corridors your maintenance should be doing preventative maintenance like pressure washing stairs and breezeways.” Pressure cleaning the outside areas would go a very long way to improving the curb appeal. I felt uneasy as I approached our room as there was a puddle (AC condensate) across the walkway and bugs/webs around the doorway, creating a sense of mystery and concern about what we might find inside the room, though the inside was OK. Not a super high-quality clean, but as expected for the level of hotel. Last concern was very nearly running out of toilet paper! Keeping track of critical supplies such as TP is pretty important. One spare roll on hand, maybe? The area was quiet, which was a positive! Yet at the same time it is in the heart of St. John's Towne Center, making the location very appealing. All in all, acceptable as expected for the low cost. Take care of Kiki! She deserves it!

The location of the hotel is 8 minutes drive from shopping mall, free parking. The room is not too big, the bed is very soft and the bed is a duck down duvet. Basically it is clean and tidy, but the hangers in the closet are dusty, equivalent to a domestic 3.5 star hotel!

I had a very short stay at this Residence Inn. The location was convenient to UNF and the Town Center where I had meetings. I arrived at the property very late and received a great welcome from Brian at the front desk. The room was large and clean and well laid out and appointed. I had to leave very early the next day, so I pretty much just set the alarm and went to bed. Unfortunately that is when the drill team started practicing upstairs. I’m sure the people did not mean to stomp around, but the sound carried clearly. I highly recommend getting an upstairs room to avoid being the stompee vs. the stomper. I eventually got to sleep but drill team practice resumed around 4 a.m., 30 minutes before my alarm time. I just got up and started getting ready early. So, the location was great, the front desk was great, and the room was great. The soundproofing is just not good. Again, get a second floor room, and you should be fine.
